Neither Michael nor Debbie Related To Jackson's Kids

I don’t know why that’s hard to believe. There are two separate threads going on right now that show pictures of his splotchy skin. Why’s it so unreasonable that he had vitiligo and then either bleached his skin or used makeup to get a uniform color?

I guess it just seems really convenient. Like, he eradicates every hint that he was ever black through plastic surgery, he has white kids, and oh, he’s also got this disease that makes it acceptable for him to turn white? If he really had it, why not even out the skin tone so that he would still look dark skinned?

Did you look at the link I posted? I realize some of the pictures are over bandwith, but you can see most. Particularly the ones from his “They Don’t Really Care About Us” video, where his splotchy skin is very visible (and mostly white, with small brown splotches). One direct link. And another. And a slightly gross pic of a spider bite, but you can see how he’s mostly white.

There was a while where it looks like they made his light skin match the dark (cite), but I’m sure after a while it was easier to cover the dark to the light. I saw an interview with his makeup artist the other day (I think it was the “Living With Michael Jackson, Take 2” documentary thing) and she said that after a while, it got too difficult to cover the light to make it all dark. So, they started covering the dark and making it light.

And the fact that he is so white doesn’t seem that impossible.

Oh, and a link to the video I mentioned. If you switch on the HQ, you can see the spots all over him (it’s actually a really good video anyway, if you’re bored-- he filmed it in the slums of Brasil over the government’s protest to show the state people live in there).

Even if he had vitiligo it doesn’t manifest itself the way it appears to have on Jackson. He clearly bleached his skin which goes further to his desire to be white. Or Peter Pan or whatever he was trying to be. The only real disease he had was the one in his head.

And honestly, I don’t see that video being about the conditions of the slums of Brazil but being about Michael Jackson trying to get his career back on track.

That song is from 1995, the video 1996. He was still pretty popular then, considering that album went platinum in 14 countries (Wiki says 7x platinum in the US alone).

I do not know the law in California, but this is certainly not the law in all 50 states.

In the few states I am familiar with, the term “marital child” reflects the presumption that a child born or conceived in wedlock is the husband’s child. A party seeking to overcome this presumption must do so by a clear and satisfactory preponderance of the evidence showing that the husband was not the father of the child. In the states where I practice, DNA evidence would certaily be sufficient to rebut the presumption of paternity.

Of course, for intestate inheritance purposes, “all issue” generally inherit equally - marital and nonmarital children alike. A nonmarital child can generally inherit if the deceased openly acknowledged himself to be the father.

Inheritance laws vary by state; generally the laws of the state are applied where the decedent lived at the time of his death.

Someone above pointed out that that female newsreader’s ancestors on her African-American side most likely included some ancestors who weren’t black. I pointed out that, if that applies to her, it applies to MJ too.

Sorry if this seems lazy, but here’s a link to a messageboard post which contains links to several pictures of ‘white’ kids produced by one black parent. (I don’t think it actually is lazy - might as well show you all the links in one place).

It’s fairly rare, however, and unlikely in all three instances. All three of “his children” are clearly caucasian.

I know two children of mixed-race very well. One is quite white whilst the otherone is clearly of mixed race.

That spider bite picture just looks…well, weird. It doesn’t look splotchy, just gross.

I guess I’m saying he could have had it. It’s just odd that someone who happens to abhor looking black to the point where he mutilated himself got a disease where he could look white.

Though I’ve seen video clips of him jumping into swimming pools and no make up came off. Was it just that heavy? Or had he permanently bleached it by then?

Not sure. As I said in either this thread or another (can’t keep track!), if you watch his “They Don’t Really Care About Us” video, you can very clearly see his spots, but they are light and don’t terribly stand out like black black skin on pale white skin. Rather, it’s light brown that looks like it is fading on white skin. So, maybe when you saw videos of him jumping into pools, it just wasn’t up close enough to see the spots. Or, maybe whatever parts you were seeing were already totally white, I don’t know.

The only time I can think of where I saw him in a pool was when Culkin pushed him in, in his home video documentary thing from the 90s- it was blurry (filmed on a home camera), far away, and he was wearing a long sleeved shirt, pants, socks, shoes, and a hat.

Plus, they do sell water proof makeup- I’ve got some. I’d imagine MJ could afford the best of the best so he didn’t sweat it off during performances.

Anywho, short answer: who knows.

Sorry if I’m a little late to the party, but that photo isn’t actually of Homer Plessy. It’s a portrait of P.B.S. Pinchback, the first African-American governor of Louisiana (himself at least 3/4 white). For some reason, though, a lot of websites are claiming that it’s Plessy.

Paris has fairly brown skin, and the older boy has features - nose and mouth - which could be African American. The younger boy really does look mixed race.

TBH, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it turned out MJ weren’t their biological father, but I think it’s equally possible that he was their biological father. I’ve just met too many mixed-race kids who look white, despite having one parent (even the mother) having very dark skin.

I know one very dark-skinned Nigerian woman whose sons are so white-looking that everyone assumes she’s the nanny. They both have pale skin, green eyes, strong bridges to their noses and thin lips. About the only feature they’ve inherited from her is curly hair - and then it’s medium brown on one, light brown on the other. And that’s two kids, not just one. It happens.
