Netflix once gave me lists, now I get screens of ‘‘thumbnails (?)’’. Did I inadvertently turn list off? Does someone have a add-on that converts thumbnails to lists? Wouldn’t Movies Featuring a Strong Female Leadbe friendlier as a list?
they changed things up recently
call them if you want an explanation
i’m not really sure why they changed
Can you give us a screenshot of what you mean?
Quick answer: Every user interface is being designed for use by a finger-swiping tablet, not a desktop’s keyboard. I hate it sometimes too.
I miss words.
I just did the exact same search, and got the results as a list rather than thumbnails. This suggests that there are indeed alternate settings; however, I was unable to find how to change them.
Click the link.
when i clicked your link it was displayed as thumbnails
Clicking the link just opens a login page.
Why would you think it wouidn’t? I didn’t post a link, but quoted the OP’s link.
Interesting. When I click it using Chrome, I get thumbnails. When I click it using Internet Explorer, I get the Netflix login page.
That would make sense if you have a Netflix account you normally access via Chrome and have left that logged in. The two browsers have two separate cookie stores. So Chrome remembers you’re logged in, but IE doesn’t. Or more precisely, Chrome has a cookie it can give to Netflix so Netflix can recognize who you are and that you’re logged in. IE doesn’t have the same cookie, so Netflix doesn’t recognize IE as representing your account.
But then if you log-in to Netflix on IE and click the link what do you get? ed-someone already addressed this.
This trek has led me to some interesting discoveries. e.g. the URL for many (all?) Netflix’ genres lists have a ‘agid=’. Some dude has a list of,he says, 100000 of these alphabetized. It is online as a spreadsheet, I think, and I have not figured out how to link to it. I found it Googling ~~ Movies Featuring a Strong Female Lead ~~
I get a list, which suggests it’s some setting within my own Netflix account rather than a browser issue.
My list is quite different from yours, probably because Netflix orders them based on my own Taste Preferences.
If we were to resolve the immediate unpleasantness it night take a turn for the worse net month. Thanks everyone.
Netflix To Roll Out A New, More Immersive Web Interface Starting In June
“More Immersive”…is that one of those “Freedom is Slavery” kind of things?
