I think you have to buy the equipment through them, then the check bounces.
I had another “interview” yesterday morning; that turned out to be a group presentation on selling insurance as an independent contractor.
I have an interview today. I hope it is not like how your interviews have been going but the engineering firm does seem legit. Super nervous though.

Dude, they would be lucky to have you working for them. They should be the nervous ones… you’ve got the skills that someone’s going to benefit from. Are they worthy of your commitment?

It turns out they interviewed me for a job they already filled but they anticipate needing more people after the first of the year. They seemed like great people and have flexible hours so it sounds like a great job… that does not currently exist.
It sounds like the HR department is trying to justify their existence…
I have a bad attitude, and I don’t like it when people try to tell me what to do. Even more so when I know more about it than they do. I’m working with some people on several projects, and they want me to do things like filling up empty space on a sign, which is not a good thing because that would make the sign hard to read. They’re extremely nitpicky, and I think they zoom in on things so they can see every tiny flaw (like a hairline that’s 1/10 of an inch long). This experience reminds me of someone who wanted to fill all of the empty space on a poster with clipart. 
Empty space is good! We don’t have to fill it all up with random meaningless things!
I need to find more effective methods of stress relief if I’m going to be working with these people a lot in the future.

Something funny, for a change—I’m working on a newsletter, and one of my coworkers sent us a photo of herself that’s so touched up, it looks like a headshot from Toddlers and Tiaras. I laugh every time I look at it. I would not know it was her if the file didn’t have her name on it. This is work, not a dating app!
I ranted earlier about a company (Company A) my company wants me to work with. The tl;dr
Company A “fired” me from working with them forever (yes they said forever) a couple of years ago. Why I don’t know and they refuse to tell me. Our contact with them also refuses to tell me. I honestly have no clue what happened.
This year they (Company A and our liasion) have communicated solely with people who are not me; including an email from our liasion to a person in our organization saying IF I do this job then I’ll have to have a meeting to understand the expectations in order to not fuck up again. Again, not to me and not stating what my fuck up was.
In order to work with a different company, I have to go through the process with Company A first. And when I checked in with the second company (I didn’t know we HAD to try Company A first because I have never received an email about what is going on) because they love me, I was told off (to another employee, they still don’t email me) by my own organization that I’m an asshole because I tried an end-around.
I finally get an email (first one) telling me the deadline is THAT DAY to turn in my transcripts and resume. Wow; that’s not a set up. In my reply, I asked why is that the first time I’m hearing of any deadline, let alone a deadline that day. They chose not to reply to me. Oh and I had to CC someone else in our organization with the paperwork. HAD TO! I got their autoreply that their last day was three days ago.
But a wrench in their plan was I had that paperwork or could get it so I met the deadline. Aaaaaaaaaaaand it took about 30 minutes for Company A to reject me after jumping through those hoops. At least that’s what my boss said. She got the email, I never did.
This is such a weird shit-show, that if I were you I’d be looking for another job.
So the daughter-in-law went back to a company that previously occupationally-abused her as an exempt employee. She went back after a bunch of promises about how they would stop doing that. So she has been working a shit schedule to get today (Thanksgiving) off. And she did get it off … except at the last second they told her she has to go in for a couple hours to prep for the opening.
Did you leave the cover page off the TPS report? Or are you going to claim you didn’t get that memo either.
In the past two months I’ve gotten a grand total of 5 job interviews with 4 different employers. The only offer I’ve gotten was a job scam. I hate getting out of bed because what I’m dreaming it’s always better than reality.
Job hunting is soul sucking. I hope you find something soon.
Thanks. I got a seasonal job in a department store that starts tomorrow. On the negative side I’m still waiting on my UC compensation appeal and got a letter Saturday saying my checking account has been closed.
Well, I started my season job today and when I got home I got a job offer for a salaried permanent position with another company today. When it rains it pours.

Same thing happened to me. We’d just gotten our first house and first kid, and I got laid off (no warning, no rational reason). Absolutely nothing for two months, then a couple of offers on the same day.
