New computer configuration

A lot of people are recommending tomshardware.com, and I CERTAINLY have to agree with them there. It will be a great deal of help when doing things like this.

Also-- I am currently running an AMD chip (as is just about everyone in my family, and most of my friends). I have yet to hear any real complaints about AMD’s chips. The only things about AMD chips is that they typically run hotter than Intel’s. This shouldn’t make a whole lot of difference, though, since you said that you weren’t interested in OVERCLOCKING or anything.

------- I bring the AMD thing up because you mentioned DDR RAM. Overall, AMD chips look like they make a little bit better use of DDR RAM than do the P4’s (which tend to work better with the RDRAM).

Anyway, good luck putting this thing together. : )
