Anybody else catch these series premieres? I’m tentatively planning to keep watching both. No Tomorrow is just really cute, and Frequency … I like the initial premise. Whoa, daughter communicating with her dead father via ham radio across 20 years …
The movie was excellent, although there were some logical flaws. Can’t imagine how they’re going to turn the idea into a continuing series…
I hear in the next episode they beat up Dan Rather.
Turning movies into TV series rarely works, but Frequency has a chance. Remember that Frequency was actually juggling a few different plots, one of which was a basic police drama. I figure they just make the anomaly that was temporary in the movie permanent and use it to solve unsolved crimes in the past. That would be the most unimaginitve thing to do anyway, but probably also the most doable. If they get more ambitious it might be a great success or topple over under its own weight.
They need to find a better way to differentiate the past from the future. A colour grade or something. The jumping back and forth, the memories and real-time events, all gets very confusing very quickly.
I watched No Tomorrow because the starring actress is hot. That’s about what it’s got going for it.
Didn’t bother with Frequency, despite also starring a hot actress. Dunno why, just didn’t feel it from the commercials, also never saw the movie.
I re-watched the movie recently. I always liked that one.
I hear there’s a recent Korean drama called Signal with a similar premise.
I always liked “Frequency”, both the idea and the movie.
I watched the first episode on TV and I can see TV"s fingers all over it.
Maybe, it will get better. I hope so, but I doubt it. Instead of trying to tell a story, they go for PC.
I didn’t realize that Frequency is adapted from a movie.
What about the other show, No Tomorrow? Anybody catch that? I mainly checked it out because the male lead is the guy from Galavant, which I totally enjoyed.
It was a very good movie, but don’t judge it by the TV show. This may surprise you, but TV screwed it up by changing damn near everything.
The lead actor is also hot. And he has a British accent.
Actually, it wasn’t bad. The idea is nuts and there were far too many palm trees in their “Seattle” location. But the acting ok and it was amusing enough for a second look. It could go either way.
“Frequency” becoming much less frequent and there really is no tomorrow. Both have been cancelled.
