He looks like an Indy or Rob (maybe Reb) to me, but, eh, how can you tell from just a picture?
I don’t have a name suggestion, but having looked at the pics, I will just say that ahead of you lies a beautiful relationship and life experience, and I’m envious! The name has to come from your heart, as I’m sure it will.

I’m still learning strongly to Scout. Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

But Scout is a great name.
The next Collie we get is going to be named (if I have anything to say about it) Flower, as in, “Here’s our new Collie, Flower.”
I’ll see myself out.
It’s high time we brought back popular medieval dog names, like Sturdy, Nosewise, Nameless, Holdfast and Hotspur.
A great sailing knuckle tattoo. (HOLD on one hand FAST on the other)
A great first day with Scout. He’s chewing on the chew toys I’m giving him instead of shoes, he’s got the dog door down pat, the other dogs are less “get out of my space” while still pushing back when he’s too much. He has to learn some rules about my food isn’t his food. Still supervised with the pack, crated at night. Typical doberman, very loving.

Pick your favorite foreign language. Or your least favorite. Or one that sounds fun or cute or exotic to you. You don’t even have to know that language. Then find out how to say “dog” in that language.
King, Eddie, Mouse (because it will make everyone do a double-take), Krishna, Helmut, Arnold (Arnie), Adelrik (noble friend), or Malcolm
They really are. That’s so good. ![]()
Remo.
OP-
I was going to suggest Max or Leo, but I love your choice…Scout. Great name!
Scout Update - He’s doing really well. His very presence is annoying to some of the other dogs, but I’m giving everyone time outs when needed just to give the older dogs a break now and then. Right now all of them are peacefully sleeping here next to me. He’s much better about leaving my food alone, and sitting and waiting for permission to eat his food. Yesterday he put his paws on my shoulders and gave me a kiss. Now, I’m short, only 5’1", but he’s only about 5 months old! He’s going to be a BIG boy.

Scout is 6 months old and over 60 lbs. He goes in for his neuter this week. He’s such a good boy!
Here’s a pic of him shadowing my 12 year old doberman, Drago.
Look at those smiling teefies! ![]()
