For all the assholes that send me porno links! I DON’T WANT THEM…
I try to block the senders, but then they just come out of the woodwork…
If we had a dot.Cum domain it would all be so much easier…
If I am not mistaken there is talk of a .xxx domain. I haven’t heard anything about it since I saw it on Cnet though.
Something tells me this should prolly be in the pit.
How’s things @ the Palm Beach?
I think there should be a .SPOOFE domain. That would lead to world peace, I guaran-damn-tee it.
cut to a scene of SPOOFE wearing a communist beret, addressing an angry mob armed to the teeth
From what I remember, there was a time where a bunch of pundits (mostly tech oriented journalists, IIRC) that talked about a “red” domain that would consist of a set of domain name extensions (whatever the last part of a domain is called) like the xxx rob mentioned. The idea was that all the adult stuff would go in there, with law dictating that adult material found in the public domain would be unlawful.
The rationale behind this would be to make the job of web filters that much easier (just block out a set of domains, and thus get rid of those cumbersome and ineffective text parsers) and organize the Internet. Of course a) since it makes sense it would never happen, and b) since the US doesn’t have as much power over the internet as it thinks (with it being international and all), it’ll never happen.
But, hey, there are worse things than porn. You know, like things that aren’t porn.
Fuck that. I’d be wearing a dark, coarse robe, a black jumpsuit, and shiny-silver gauntlets… and I’d be addressing an entire legion of elite Imperium metasoldiers.
would you use swords or lightsabers?
… as has been mentioned in previous threads, the .xxx idea isn’t really practical. How will anyone enforce every porn site in the world moving to such an address? And how can you stop the shady ones who don’t care for rules. The ones that set up on GeoCities to capture the surfers-with-.xxx-filters market, harvest a few CC numbers, get the site removed, then set up all over again?
There are already tons of names there, try registry.com for a list. *.cum would never be socially acceptable.
Plus, maybe you can filter *.xxx but you won’t be able to filter xxx ads that come up.

Well a few weeks ago the PBC closed down, so no more corrupting the innocence of Houston for Rob.

What I saw proposed was a .adu extension for any site that requires you to be over 18. This would include alcohol, tobacco and firearms sites, as well.
Robin
I’d use swords AND lightsabers. I mean, lightsabers are cool and all, but sometimes there’s nothing cooler than swinging a big ol’ honkin’ broadsword.
Also, each soldier will be equipped with a fully-functional rubber chicken.
(Man, how come I always hijack threads with my desires for universal domination?)
Unfortunately the powers that be who assign domain endings in the first place decided not to make an adult-only ending such as .xxx.
If you want to, you can just add more x’s & get more sites.
e.g. Links Removed! Coldfire I never went through how many possible x’s there are that bring up sites though.

handy, just how stupid are you?
You’ve been around here for over two years, and have a grand total of close to 10,000 posts to your name.
HOW IN THE HELL DID YOU THINK POSTING LINKS TO PORN SITES WAS A GOOD IDEA?
I don’t give a flying fuck if they were merely an example. We have rules that clearly state links to sites with adult oriented material are strictly off limits. We all know this. If you ever pull a stunt like that again, you’re out of here in ten seconds flat. We don’t give a shit how many posts you have to your name: there’s just no excuse for this.
Is that understood?
