New Galaxy S4 not updating email

Over the weekend, I upgraded from a Galaxy S2 to a Galaxy S4. I’ve worked out almost all the settings, but I can’t figure out how to get it to automatically check for new emails on my yahoo! email account. I have to refresh manually every time. How do I fix this? Thanks.

If you are using the stock email client, then under Account settings there should be a “sync schedule” option. It should be sent to PUSH. Also, you can see if there are other options, such as roaming or “only over WIFI” that have been enabled that may prevent it from automatically refreshing for you.

If you aren’t using the stock client, then you are still going to look around for syncing options and make sure they are set to push. Data charges may apply.

Thank you, Flander. I couldn’t find the Account settings so I installed the Yahoo! Mail app for android, which instantly solved the problem. Should have thought of that first! :smack:

Since you’ve installed the Yahoo app, go ahead an delete your email info from the other mail client to prevent getting duplicate notifications. The easy way to do this is through android settings ->Application Manager -> Locate the Email app and select. Then select the “clear data” button.
