Now this is all in fun, so keep it light and try to avoid personal attacks.
The idea behind this is to pick a Doper that has opposite political views and declare that your vote will cancel the other out. Since some Dopers are lone residents of a state, and the EC makes votes from CA and AL seperate from each other, let’s just think along national popular vote.
Since I plan on voting outside the two main parties I’m guessing I won’t be “canceling” anybody’s vote, just throwing mine away in a virtually hopeless attempt to break us out of the two-party system by encouraging the nutjobs.
From the last “You are you voting for” thread, I seem to recall that we don’t have any Tennessee Bush backers. But if any such emerge, I claim the first one.
I know I have a few fellow Virginians here (Q.E.D., iampunha and robert_liguiori come to mind), but I don’t think any of them are voting for Bush. Should anybody turn up, or should one of the folks I mentioned beg to differ, I lay claim.
And just as I was about to post in this thread bemoaning my lack of a say in this world-important election, ‘Living In America’ by The Sounds comes on my iTunes random playlist
“We’re not living in America, but we’re not sorry” - The Sounds
I’ve decided to vote Badnarik, I’m in New York and a Bush vote would be meaningless, so who does that mean I’m cancelling? A Nader voter? Is Nader even on our ballot? Color me confused.
I’ve just spent 20 minutes trying to find a post in one of the many WS threads where someone said the Sox would win the year Nader was elected. Can anyone with better search skills help me out here?
