A friend has a new iPod and when she hooks it up to her computer, it accesses iTunes but won’t take songs that have been recently downloaded into it. What could be the problem & how does she remedy it?
I don’t know but whoever does is going to need more specific information. What model iPod, what operating system, and what version of iTunes? Also what exactly happens when it “won’t take songs?” What actions is she taking to copy the songs, and what does she see when she does those actions?
I got a new iTouch last fall, and it has already developed problems something like this - it was showing that it was chock full of miscellaneous stuff (it wasn’t). I reset the thing back to factory settings, and now it’s acting proper again. It was also acting weird when I played songs on the iTouch - I’d try to play a song by X band, and Y band would come up (I can’t really explain it - it was just plain acting weird).
This is apparently a fairly common problem now.
It’s an iPod touch 5th gen 64GB. It also takes her multiple times to have it respond to her touch. She wonders if it might be the screen cover. Also, when she tries to update the songs in her iTunes on the iPod, it seems to go into perpetual loading.
When my iPod balks at synching, I disconnect it from my computer, restart iTunes, then reconnect.
Be sure iTunes is up to date – I have had things not work properly when I have not updated.
