I now live in Carrollton, Georgia and no longer in Dallas!
Carrollton is where I went to College (West Georgia College, at that time), and it also is the place where I played drums in my first rock band (named “The Watchmen” - we had the name as early as 1966, so come ahead, MO-FOS! ;))
It is also the place where I married my Sweetheart, later to divorce her in Florida, and recently to marry her again, in Carrollton (and shut-up! I don’t wanna hear about it - we’ve been best friends through the entire time, so that means the love survived, too) with all feelings intact.
I wanted y’all to know that just in case there might be some Dopers in the virginity!
I KNOW it’s supposed to be “vicinity”, but WTF, Dude??? Can’t I have some fun???

Yay, Quasi! I knew you were a semi-neighbor when you were in Dallas. Welcome home! My husband and I are both (geriatric) students at West Ga, and we live about 5 minutes from campus on Columbia Dr. We’ve been here about four years and just love it! We joke that, even though we live in the bad part of town, it’s CARROLLTON, so how dangerous can it be?
Y’all just trying to get closer to me ain’t ya?
Don’t forget to buy a good umbrella, Quasi. I swear every single time I’ve been in Carrollton it was raining.
We live just right up the road from WGC, TCB, on Boulder Drive. Maybe we can all meet for lunch one day!
“Geriatric”? You mean you two are middle-aged, right, or that you’re studying
geriatrics? Don’t tell me you’re old! I’m not and I’m 59!
NinetyWt, I know you live in Alabama, right?
How far apart are we now? The state line’s not too far from here. (I know 'cause I used to have to buy my booze in Ranburne! ;)).
It’s been so hot the last couple of days, Kingspades, I’d welcome some of that rain right now.
Looking forward to getting finally settled, so I can start cycling again. The Tyus-Carrollton road has some pretty scenery, and they had a 100 mile ride here a couple of weekends ago…
Thanks
Quasi
“Why” are there quotation “marks” everywhere?
Had me stumped there for a “minute”, Troy.
Then I “looked” at my thread “title”!
You’re “correct” of course: Those quotations marks were completely “superfluous”.
Thanks for the link and the laughs!

Well, we’re definitely old to our fellow students! It’s not so bad for my husband as he’s a grad student, but I’d never been to college and was taking freshman classes with kids younger than my own daughters!
Heehee, *I *got the joke, anyway! I think this should be turned into an Official SDMB Meme.
We’re in Central MS, Quasi. Still closer than we were.
:smack:
“Garden Spot of The South”, of course.
Well, maybe a “half-way” meet sometime.
