New MCU films announced

Well, they’;ve got a guy with a ring, a spider, a wizard, a guy that can fly and a guy that can shrink - not a bad fellowship.

“One does not simply walk into Vormir…”

I’m thoroughly unimpressed with most of the lineup announced. I will probably go to watch ScarJo play Black Widow again, because I like what she’s done with it over the movies, but I’m skeptical of watching a prequel when I know she’s already dead. Same issue with “WandaVision”. I have no interest in movies that take Cap or Thor and give the powers to other people (I know that’s a thing often done in the comic books, but it’s a thing that always bugged me). And most of the new superheroes or superhero teams just leave me very bleh.

I predict that saturation levels will quickly be reached. I also predict that the general audiences will fall off as soon as they realize that not everyone can be as good as Robert Downey, Jr. in developing a strong character they care about.

They still have Black Panther and Captain Marvel, the two highest grossing single character movies. They still have Thor, Spider-man, and GotG too.

Well, of course a lot of the money comes from the Avengers branded mayonnaise tie in product sales. And there is a premium - every 20th jar is Hulk green.

Come on - you know you’d buy it.

This has been the prediction for at least half a decade, and yet the movies keep getting MORE popular not less. Both Black Panther and Captain Marvel grossed more by themselves than the first two Iron Man movies together.

I expect WandaVision to take place after Endgame – Vision will be “resurrected” since he’s a robot (remember in Infinity War, when Shuri started furiously doing something with Vision once she realized she was about to be attacked? I think it’s likely she was downloading his memories.), and then he and a resurrected, Mind Stone-free Vision will go hang out and have adventures.

EDIT: According to Wikipedia, WandaVision will take place after Endgame.

Pretty much how I feel. I’m not proclaiming doom or death for MCU, etc – just saw this lineup and shrugged. I’m not a huge fan of prequels in general and thought Dr Strange was an average MCU movie and won’t watch the subscription-TV stuff. Not familiar with Eternals or Shang-Chi so maybe they’ll wind up being good but I can’t get excited about stuff I know nothing about.

I will almost certainly watch the TV movies–possibly via DVR. The others…hmmm…we’ll see when they’re released, but nothing grabs me as “must see” on that list.

They’re not TV movies. They’re limited run shows on Disney’s new streaming service.
