I went and done it.

I am a mouse mom again.

It all started when I checked my local humane society web page last night, I am working with a Papillon rescue and check regularly to see if any have come in. Last night, there was one listed, so I went today to put them in touch wwith the rescue. Thankfully her adoption was already pending so she’s safe.

I have had pet mice in the past and love them, and there on the counter was a Habitrail cage with 2 adorable little mice. 4 months old, no one wanted them. I asked how much- $10, including the cage.

So… I now have 2 as of yet unnamed pet mice. My favorite is a little black & white with a patch over one eye. The other is a champagne/tan with a blaze face and pink eyes.

Awww…I loves meeces to pieces! (At least, I think I would. As a confirmed cat person, I’m doomed never to have any, but they are so cute!)

Oh… my cats are verrrrrrrrry interested. I have them in a safe spot when I’m not able to keep an eye on them and they’ll be on my work table when I am there. They are sooooo cute! They snuggle together to sleep in the ‘loft’.

I am thnking of naming them Frankie & Johnny…

Cute! And with those fur patterns, you can actually tell them apart.

:slight_smile: The little black and white is the more mellow of the 2 and I have had him out for about a half an hour. He settled right down, wanted to sniff noses with me, and likes having his neck and shoulders rubbed. I had forgotten just how much fun mice are!

I am leaning toward Frodo (B/W) & Sam (champagne) for their names.

Only problem… I think Sam’s gay for Frodo :dubious:, he keeps humping him, and Frodo is none too thrilled by it.

I put a ‘branchy’ stick in the cage for them, leaning against the wall and they are having a blast scrambling all over it and chewing on it.

Nexy, I think I’d like to get a rat… never had a rat.
