New Nick Cage movie, starring Nick Cage as Nick Cage

It’s been a bizarre news week, but at last something totally normal happens: Hollywood talks to an actor about making a movie.

I don’t know that I’ll make it to see this movie, but holy fuck I hope it gets made.

The man is a National Treasure.

Being Nick Cage.

Which part is true?

I just played the whole movie in my head. While the drug kingpin throws a birthday party for the Mexican presidential nominee’s daughter, Cage decodes an ancient manuscript revealing that there’s an historical document ceding California to the people of Mexico. Is it hidden in one of the piñatas? Is there someone at the party who wouldn’t arouse suspicion by going crazy and wildly swinging a baseball bat?

I got $5 says he can’t play himself convincingly.

Sounds kind of like the movie “Adaptation”, in the sense of a realistic movie with Nick Cage playing a real person that goes completely cuckoo-bananas at the end.

Extra points if John Malkovich has a cameo.

I wouldn’t normally nitpick this, but it’s so consistent…

Nic. The short form of his name is spelt Nic, no K.

Hate to nitpick, but “spelt” to most of us refers to a type of wheat.

Spelt is the spelling in most of the English Speaking World.

Nic Cage’s name is properly spelt ‘Nick’ literally nowhere.

Ahhh, Appeal To Popularity, my favorite logical fallacy.

You know Tom Hanks will wind up with the role.

Cage wasn’t their first choice. He got the part after Daniel Day Lewis, Gary Oldman, and Raymond Massey turned it down.

I have to disagree. I think this Saturday Night Live clip demonstrates that Nicholas Cage makes an excellent Nicholas Cage.

Just reading the title of the OP I was thinking you were talking about The Color Out of Space.
H. P. Lovecraft and Nick Cage two things that belong together.

The one on the right is very convincing. I’ll send you two-fiddy.

My favorite Nic Cage scene:

I think you mean Tom Hans.

(thans for the correction, however nitpicy, amino Neo!)

…and will they be gone in 60 seconds?
