The New page used to only show new threads. Now it shows those mixed with my unread threads, some of which have been going for months or years. This is not an improvement.

On second reading of that thread, you’re right. I missed that in the discussion of problems getting quickly to the unread thread.
The change is still not an improvement. And this is still a separate problem from the main topic of that thread.
I get the impression that somebody’s been messing around changing things just in order to change something. As a very minor but entirely useless change which occurred about the same time, the symbol to shrink the reply box so you can see more of the thread you’re replying to changed from a down arrow to a minus sign. Works just as well once I figured it out; but why?
