New Pit rules

Sounds like somebody took a Lee Dodd seminar on How to Build a Successful Online Community.

Now, we just need Petz. Nothing like cute fluffy anteaters to take the edge off. And Living Avatars. Petz and Living Avatars. And some new Smilies. Petz and Living Avatars and New Smilies. Then everybody’ll want to be nice to everybody else all the time.

Not a Fuck You to be seen!

I just came into complain about a moderator action, until I saw the new Alien and Sedition Acts. Yowzer!

Giraffe, you know, some places do that automagically. You can just tell someone to gently caress themselves.

Of course, we couldn’t criticize the new rules in this thread. So, off to ATMB I go.

You can’t abuse other posters. You can still abuse the subjects of RO threads, or whoever.

Yeah, take it to GQ!

Impotent Dickwaving, it’s not just a band name, it’s a whole old way of thinking!

Giraffe:

I just wanted to take the opportunity to say that this is a great analogy! And I’m not being sarcastic! Not at all!

(No, really!)

Ahh, gently caress this. I love this place.

I almost started this thread but I didn’t because I would have had a hard time keeping myself from cursing and I was not in the mood to be banned.

Can we say [bleep] instead then? Do we have to say bleep instead now?

These rules have taken away the essence and the point of the Pit. Might as well just not have a Pit anymore.

What is the point of all these changes? Who out there that matters gives a bleep if I feel the need to say bleep you to another board member? Is it really a big enough of a problem?

“I hope you say that to [someone prone to stabbing people] and they stab you”.

This might be my new sig.

Joe

You can still say “fuck”. You just can’t say “fuck Really Not All That Bright”, although if you’d like to, I can probably make arrangements.

Dunno, it’s all so confused. Best I can piece together, some Creative Loafing bigwig’s kid called Ed a cuntwaffle.

Now what will I do with this lawn chair? And the giant bowl of popcorn I just made?

Wait- in all seriousness- is this true? I was taking the new rule regarding ‘staff and administration decisions’ to mean move your complaints about ‘why someone closed/moved my thread’ to ATMB. Does that include complaints about rules, too? We really can’t complain about the new Pit in the new Pit?

Well, so long interesting Pit. Hello, GD 2.0.

My first thought as well. Oh, well. Time to dig out all those insulting, demeaning phrases my grandmother used to use.

Aren’t these new rules just special? I supposed they don’t know any better, the dears.

Cite?

Now can we have that clinical white background changed to pink with little flowers strewn randomly?

I don’t see why this has to change. As I understand the New Rules, they forbid obscenities, vulgarities, and similar abuse (but not “creative insults”) against other posters.

I wouldn’t be so sure. I imagine it’s only a matter of time before we’re told that we can’t actively disagree with one another and must respect all opinions equally so as not to hurt anyone’s feelings.

But, hey, that’s only my opinion! You could be right, too! Let’s still be friends, 'kay? :D:D:D:D:D

I love the Pit!

It’s called idioglossia, you wonderful man.
