I actually like them- although I must say that the “no abusive remarks directed at other posters” thing kinda cuts the possibilities vis-a-vis Pit content in half.

This is a fantastic idea. It really seems like TPTB listened to the staff and members and gave us all exactly what we wanted. Another stellar example of the type of customer service we’ve grown to expect and love from this place. I think the new unicorns & sunshine Pit will be great. Well done!

This thread is a perfect example of why I didn’t want to moderate under the new rules. Not only am I not particularly interested in warning people for saying bad words, but I knew the unintended consequences would be huge. Case in point: how do you deal with obvious sarcasm? What do you do when “you’re a wonderful man!” becomes well-known code for “you’re a stupid asshole!”?
Give it a few years and this place will be incomprehensible to outsiders. It’ll be like those languages twins teach each other.
One wonders why there is a pit, then. From the sound of it, anything one could post in the pit could also be posted in whatever thread originated the pitting.
One also hopes that this post isnt considered to be a complaint about the administration of the board.
