Like Auntiepam, think “Bill Clinton, Secretary of State.”
Ron Paul in the Primary. LP in the general.
Hillary for President with Obama as VP; Bill Clinton as Secretary of State even though I don’t get a vote on that one.
Hillary as Pres with Obama as Veep. Bill Clinton as an ambassador at large, but not sec of state.
I still believe that Hillary will not win the nomination because of her hawkishness.
Of the Democrats, Edwards comes closest to being for everything that I am for. The corporate media would never allow him to be president since he represents a big threat to the Established Order. I’d love Kucinich as well, but since a certain percentage would always vote for the taller candidate he has no chance. I’d love to see Gravel have some role in the next administration but president isn’t going to be it. The man speaks passionately and with a conscience and is right about the war. I like Richardson but perhaps he could do the best good by taking Dominici’s seat. Biden and Dodd, bless them both, would both make great presidents as well. So in order of preference, I like Edwards, Gravel, Kucinich, Biden, Dodd, Richardson, Obama, and finally The Cackler.
On the GOP side, there is nobody remotely qualified. McCain has tried for years to sell his soul but can’t find a buyer. Thompson is perhaps the stupidest, most uniformed candidate in ages. Guiliani and his 9/11 Tourette’s and his lame cell phone stunts are getting old in a hurry. Romney looks like central casting’s “undertaker” and I don’t think he has any convictions about anything.
Sadly, I believe we would lose the urban South.
That may be even better. He would not require the Senate approval that would never be given by Republicans, but he would be a representative of the President trusted by whoever he visits. You could still call him “Mister President”, too.
Obama.
If Obama doesn’t make the primaries, I suppose I’ll vote for Hillary. Their platforms seem to be pretty much the same, anyways. I just happen to personally like Obama more than Hillary. He possesses a certain diplomacy she lacks, and I am really sick of the whole liberal/conservative dichotomy. He could help to take the emphasis off of the differences.
People, please try to remember that this is a poll, not a political debate.
Thank you.
I strongly support Hillary.
I’ll vote for the Democratic candidate. Out of the current field, I like them all except for Kucinich who is a joke.
Another vote for Ron Paul. What’s that, three now? We’re taking off!
I really don’t like Hillary. She grates on my nerves, and she’s got nothing to say I want to hear. Right now, of the top canidates… I dunno… I really like Joe Biden, but I don’t think he has a chance in hell.

Obama, Edwards, Hillary, Richardson, in that order.
Of those, I think Edwards would have the best chance in the general, followed by Obama. Hillary would have the most difficult time, IMO.
If that’s the ticket, I’ll be in a real quandry. Hillary would mean the only serious chance for a female President in my lifetime, but what Rudy did after 9/11 was amazing.
Obama sounds too much like Osama. Chris Dodd brings to mind James Dodd. And if Ron Paul gets in, the newscasters are going to have a hell of time not accidentally refering to “President RuPaul.”
Ron Paul makes more sense than any of the candidates.
Ron Paul for me, the only guy up there with true small government ideals, and doesn’t keep bending his message to hit the current audience.
This is the first election since I’ve been able to vote that I’ve actually cared at all about a candidate, even if he’s a relative long-shot.
Ehhh. Despite all of his attempts, Bush only barely makes Clinton’s foreign policy look good in comparison. If we can use up our political capital to pursue ill-advised manuvers, surely we could have used it in the 90s to help the situations in Bosnia and Rwanda before the hundreds of thousands of people were massacred.
Hillary is growing on me. I prefer Obama first and foremost though, after him, probably Hillary then maybe Paul. I’m going to vote for Obama in the primaries though. Everything aside, I think Obama would make the best president. He seems like JFK or Clinton.
Fred Thompson? He looks like he’s sleeping his way though this campaign. He’s seriously Bush’s successor. But I disagree with the previous comment above. If there were no term limits, Bush’s second term would be a whole different kettle of fish. If he were going to run, he’d be aiming at that from day one.
But Rudy? I’m so sick of his 911 rhetoric. As “heroic” as you were Rudy, it wasn’t that great. I mean you did your job after 911. Any mayor of New York would have done the same. I’m so sick of hearing about 911 in a political sense. “Never Forget” you won’t f#&$&@& let us!
As far as McCain? He’s pathetic. I have had zero respect for him after he endorsed Bush in 2000. Ever since then he’s been biting his tongue, waiting for his turn again. He’s gone to Bob Jones and all of those places that would rather see him dead based on his “black baby” If he has such little integrity then he should never be prez.
That’s kind of the way I feel about Hill. I feel like the whole turning of the blind eye toward Bill has really just been the way their marriage worked. She wanted to be in politics after he was done, so they went along like that. It’s dishonest I think. I didn’t believe for one second that she didn’t know about Bill’s cheating.
I don’t remember one instance where Hillary denied that Bill cheated on her. The marriage obviously works, they have raised a lovely daughter who has never gotten in trouble with the law, and now Hillary feels it’s her time.
As for 9/11: While the President was staying in the skies and the Veep was hiding underground, Rudy was down at the site. He stayed in the public eye the whole day like a beacon. The next morning, after having had little food and sleep for 24 hours, he personally called the head of ever NYC institution and asked “How soon can you get back in business?” He knew that, while NYC couldn’t get back to normal, NYCers could start doing what they normally do. He is the person most responsible for getting the city back on its feet after that horrible day.
Green if they can jump further left, otherwise I’ll find an actually socialist candidate somewhere
