Yea, but it’s Stana, not Kate
You have keenly discriminating anatomy.
*Castle *beat Hawaii 5.0 by a similar number of total viewers. However, in the key 18-49 demo Castle got a 2.0/5 compared to Revolution’s 3.3/9, and Hawaii 5.0’s 2.1/5. That worries me a little bit.
Ross and Rachel, for one. They got them together and then broke them up and somewhere in there is when I stopped watching.
Revolution will be over as soon as everybody realizes just how stoopid it really is. Mildly interesting concept that they pissed all over. It’s being written by chimps, I swear. Cracked has 9 of 10 associated with Revolution.
For some reason, *Castle *has a reputation as an “old folks’ show.” There was even a joke about it in this week’s 30 Rock.
Well as far as I’m concerned I will watch Castel and tape revolution, It’s not as exciting as I had hoped, getting to be really predictable in the fight scenes now, and the caratures of the people have gotten boring, No revolution will not last long. Castle is still very good and fresh, with the new twist of hiding the relationship, and who knows, and their reactions, all very good stuff.
Well, they did title this week’s episode “Murder, He Wrote.”
I think *Castle *is much more comparable to Remington Steele, which aired about the same time as Moonlighting. Established and competent female detective gains partner who solves mysteries through guesses based on fiction. Remington Steele also had a will-they-or-won’t-they element, and sadly jumped the shark when the characters did. Keeping the leads out of bed long enough to have an interesting story is a formula that predates any of these shows. *Jane Eyre *is one long exercise in keeping the leads out of bed until they can live happily ever after.
I think the hide-the-relationship bits have been very well done in Castle, particularly the sexyhandshake.
I really enjoyed the episode last night. Even having to hand-wave a lot of things regarding Castle’s own team being allowed to investigate him, I still thought it was a good episode. The 3xk story is good as it gives Castle a recurring storyline and nemesis that is a nice break occasionally from the drama around Beckett’s mom’s murder.
This season as a whole has been really strong so far. Putting Castle and Beckett together has breathed new life into the show and has brought back a more fun dynamic reminiscent of seasons 1 and 2 (even with the serious episode last night). Stana Katic as Beckett has really impressed me as well with her growth as an actress. I did not think much of her acting when the show started but she has improved greatly and shows such great facial expressions that let’s you know exactly what the character is thinking. Plus she is super hot, which is always a bonus.
I don’t like the premise of this ‘super smart serial killer’ - and the big clue that Castle was set up was that his drive (while having stuff ‘surgically’ deleted) did not delete the incriminating evidence well enough - I did like the rest of the episode however -
Yeah, I thought the frame-up job got a little ridiculous, but it was a good episode overall. I knew that they had to be bringing back some prior plotline - why else would anybody have reason to frame Castle, after all? I did think briefly of the 3XK episodes, but didn’t actually think of him as a serious suspect until he was there outside Castle’s cell. I even wondered if it might be the Senator’s doing, trying to separate Beckett from her support system in a way that couldn’t be directly traced to him.
Oh Kate’s a si-fi lover ! and I counted 3 references to Firefly in this episode, and did you see his daughters costume. This was a very good episode.
Really loved the way she dressed up for Castle, just the most amazing thing.
Very fun episode! I loved the Firefly references and Castle’s Shatner impression.
Wait, so a single guy developed a lethal hand held energy based weapon? Get this guy a government contract!
Very good stuff. I liked this episode even more because it was a needed bit of lightness on the heels of one of the show’s “heavier” outings. You know, I think Castle should have been somewhat pleased that his daughter had, at the very least, chosen to dress up as an assassin. She didn’t settle for being some totally generic bikini girl in a space harem; she picked someone with marketable skills and a can-do attitude!
Besides the overt ones (“Shiny!”, and Castle name-dropping Joss), I got:
During the simulator, the captain mentioned “Ariel”, which is the name of Firefly episode.
The captain’s name was “Max Rennard” , which is similar to Mal Reynolds.
There was a girl dressed as Kayley wandering around the convention. She showed up a couple of times.
Becket had on blue gloves at one point, which I think they do all the time but could be taken as a reference to “Two-by-two, hands of blue.”
The “Creavers”, which sounds a lot like “Reavers”.
Also, not Firefly related, but that was Jonathan Frakes getting the signature from Castle at the beginning of the con scene. He also directed the episode.
Fun episode, indeed, but I was totally distracted looking at the crowds for more people I’d recognize.
I imagine Frakes must have enjoyed directing Fillion’s bit from “Yesterday’s Enterprise.” Guy does a decent Patrick Stewart.
And a passable Shatner.
not catching that reference - Fillon was in that episode? I don’t recall it for some reason.
Last nites Castle was the exact reason I love Castle - blatant product placement that is totally in charactor (his graphic novel) - lots of references - pure fun. Galaxy Quest 2.0 !
Gonna need to see more skin going forward.
If American Horror Story Asylum can show bare asses, then Castle can too!
