New season of "Rescue Me" starts 6/13

Reportedly picking up right where last season left off; word is “don’t miss the first 11 minutes!”

Lemme guess…Denis Leary’s character doesn’t die in that beach house fire. Can’t wait!

Hey, spoilers!
Just kidding. Actually, I find Leary’s to be the least interesting character on that show, and the whole “I see dead people” thing is just tedious. I watch it for the other guys and the lovely milfs and tend to go for a sandwich when a Leary scene starts.

“I wanna get laid, Franco!”

I didn’t care for the fire scene. I thought the music took all the life out of it, flattened it. I didn’t feel a second of tension.

Turned it off about 30 minutes in but will finish watching later on the DVR. Too many promos! That Robin Williams movie looks like a stinker.

Who was the babe in the dress talking to Tommy about dinner next Tuesday?

Jennifer Esposito, formerly of Spin City. Her IMDb credits haven’t been updated, but that’s definately her. She grew a butt since Summer of Sam.

No, I mean in the show. Did she rescue both Tommy and Sheila from the fire? Was that ever shown, or just implied?

I came here to ask that same question. I have no memory of a scene in which she rescued Tommy from a fire - the one at the beach house or any other.

I also don’t understand how the old chief is so lucid now. I thought he was babbling and pretty much not going to recover from his stroke?

And the last scene was really confusing to me. Sheila’s acting like the whole thing was a plot to get insurance money. Am I supposed to forget that last season it was portrayed as a spontaneous act and she wanted to kill him then changed her min? Now she’s all cool and collected?

I suspect Tommy’s dreaming again.

I don’t know - there was the whole build up with the elevator (“there’s a bee in there” - heh) and then he walks down the hall and knocks - we’ll see but I didn’t get the impression he was dreaming.

Another possibility: Sheila died in the fire.

It happened between last season’s finale and this ep. There’s a lot of stuff that we didn’t see; it’s been several months–Garrity says something to Maggie about having been married for 9 months, and they were newlyweds last season. Tommy is trying to remember what happened, and we’re left a bit in the dark, too; I expect that’s all going to come out over the course of the season.

There were a couple of comments that made it sound like Sheila was dead, and then he sees her right after seeing Jimmy’s ghost, so it wasn’t at all clear to me whether she’s alive or not.

I hated that scene. I was all, WTF is with the B-52s??? It was really weird and disjointed and I couldn’t tell what the hell was going on. Of course, being in a real fire is very disorienting, but I still didn’t like it.

Overall, I wasn’t thrilled with this episode. I LOVED the first season, but it’s been kind of downhill since then.
