Currently, his body of water “choice” is the East river.
Typo Negative a healthy man can make it to the shore in time, no problems.

They intimated one time that he woke up indoors.
It would be hard to make it to the shore, even healthy, when suffering hypothermia. Highlander did an episode where an immortal was left on a deserted island, and without fresh water he kept dying over and over and over from dehydration. Made him really mad at Duncan Macleod, as that is a nasty way to go.
I really hope he tells Jo soon. Too many shows have played coy by stretching out reveals like that for too long and it’s become a boring cliche. Pull the Band-Aid and get it over with.
So, he died again this week. And Adam spoiled Jo finding out the Big Secret.
I was puzzled by Henry still having the phone at the end. I guess he must not have had it on him when he died.
I know, I was looking forward to her seeing him disappear and wondering WTF? But they played it well, the tension was good. The callousness of ‘Adam’ I think spoke volumes.
Yea, I wondered that too. I suppose he just left it at home.
I think Adam was being kind in a dispassionate sort of way. Henry was going to die anyway, and was in a lot of pain at the time. Adam expertly cut his throat and ended his pain as quickly as possible, with the full knowledge that Henry was going to come back healthy and healed.
I don’t think Adam was necessarily callous, so much as pragmatic. I would imagine a person would be much less hesitant about cutting a throat in the certain knowledge that said throat-cutting would be instantly healed. Indeed, he did Henry a solid in expiditing his death.
And did anyone else notice the distinct lack of blood on the carpet at the bottom of the stairs?
I noticed. Apparently his blood goes the same place his body and clothes go.
Makes for easy cleanup.
Cribbing from I Know What You Did Last Summer? For shame!
Nonsense - long standing TV script tradition of stealing plots.
They are teasing quite about with whether or not Henry will die in a particular episode. We’ve had everything from not a scratch on him through various injuries to death. I like that there’s an unpredictability about that.
Jo seems to be getting suspicious about Henry (about damn time!). I really hope they do the Big Reveal before too much longer.
Interesting that we also got some of Abe’s backstory this time. The interaction between Henry and Abe is most interesting in their body language, there’s quite a bit of “action” going on in the non-verbal there.
Good episode.
I sorta like that they’re teasing us about the big reveal. I think it’s better story-wise to let a little bit on at a time, then for Jo to find out in the middle of the season. I can easily see it as a season finale.
I did, however, think at the 40 minute mark “well, they wrapped up the Meechum death, what plot twist are we going to get in the last act?” I was very law and order-ish.
I also think they handled the “I had to shoot someone” really well.
Abe as a 10 year old we amusing. It must have been hard for Henry to see him get drafted, knowing his son can die when he can’t.
So, one of those stupid thoughts I have in the middle of the night:
Is it more accurate to say Henry is undead rather than immortal?
Henry most certainly can and has died, many times. He just keeps coming back. He doesn’t stay dead.
Of course, the show is going to keep saying he’s immortal because it sounds so much more pleasant than undead.
I was re-watching “The Frustrating Thing About Psychopaths” (thank you, abc.com) and I think we actually see when Adam enters The Frenchman’s shop. As the real killer staggers back upstairs and into the room with tied up Frenchman, at 34:18 to 34:19, a blur goes by the camera. It’s not the killer - we see him staggering through the hallway on the left. It’s not the Frenchman, she’s tied up. It’s not Jo, she hasn’t entered the building yet. It’s not Henry, he’s at the bottom of the stairs with a broken back and bleeding out.
It’s Adam.
Geez, this is going to be like Observer sightings in Fringe.
I sense an awkward debate about Jesus approaching.
As soon as Adam said he was 2,000 years old and still alive I thought “wandering Jew”.
Undead to me implies that the flesh is dead but animated. Zombies and vampires aren’t really “alive” as regular people are. Henry is alive very much like people are and can die and does die. Over and over.
Undead implies that the body is dead, but you’re still around. Henry’s body isn’t dead, therefore he’s not undead.
Warhammer 40K handles this by calling the Primarch Vulkan (who also can’t die, but can be killed) a perpetual, which I think is a better name than immortal, because you’re right, immortal means “can’t die”, which Henry clearly can. He just doesn’t stay dead.
Latest episode is Henry Meets the Dominitrix. Interesting take on “therapy”.
Abe has an ex-wife he’s been married to/divorced/remarried/redivorced? Interesting…
So… Henry has avoided meeting Abe’s friends and love interests and Abe’s ex-wife thinks Henry is Abe’s son.
Some flashbacks to Henry’s distant past - apparently Abigail was not his first wife.
They’re teasing us again with will he/won’t he die in front of an audience and have his secret revealed.
Clearly, Henry has trust issues. He’s also held himself a bit aloof from society, which accounts for at least some of his eccentricities. I kind of like that he connected with his co-workers after work. Anyone else have a moment of wondering if he was going to spill the beans to Jo with his “I was shot.”? Of course he’s been shot, Jo has seen him get shot, but clearly that’s not what he meant when referring to his dramatic scar. I’m sure it’s been added to Jo’s List of Weird Things About Henry.
I still say at some point he has to die in front of her.
Also, apparently the network has ordered a full first season of Forever, so maybe it will acquire some legs.
