NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 4)

Back in the golden age of AOL chatrooms, I knew a guy from Indiana who told me that it was the Alabama of the north.

I wasn’t quite sure what he meant then, but I think I get it now.

After reading the few posts just above, I’m now convinced these particular Republicans do not give present to their children on Christmas day. No doubt they have an interesting schedule for that day.

  1. Talking about how the Jewish society circa 2000 years ago had their priorities in order when condemning Mary for being pregnant sans a husband.
  2. Herod, being the head of state and thus protected by executive immunity, not only was not wrong, but could not be wrong when he ordered his soldiers to kill all boys under the age of two.
  3. His soldiers also were not wrong for just following orders.
  4. Jesus, being the newborn king, of course deserved the homage from the Magi and all that money they gave him. (You know the 'pubbies don’t care about the other two things, foppish* as they are.) (*I’m channeling the 'pubblies here; this is not what I think nor words I would use.)
  5. All that woke nonsense in the New Testament was put in there by the Jews and thus must be ignored.
  6. The Grinch and Scrooge are sorely misunderstood.

No, but they think a lump of coal is what kids get when they’re good.

Ground into a powder and then blown into their lungs, of course. Because it’s our God-given right to die of black lung disease!

Tell me you’ve never handled coal without saying you’ve never handled coal.

Will the really good stuff still get your hands dirty?

Let’s not allow it to be a joke. Every time the right mentions anything about the ‘war on christmas’, that tweet needs to be reposted. People need to know that those complaining the loudest about the war on christmas are also the ones waging it.

It’s like the Christmas version of Katie Hopkins tweet:

Imagine being descended from shtetl refugees and showing your kids a TV special featuring two first-generation Americans whose parents came to this country fleeing poverty and political strife, and your takeaway being “America shouldn’t have immigrants”.

MAGA idiots are aghast that a woman is going to be commissioner of the FDNY, presumably because they think the commissioner is personally responsible for extinguishing burning buildings by hosimg them down with their massive hog.

I’m thinking a 90% bot content, the rest incels from Turning Point.

I can just imagine Bari Weiss’ reaction to being thought of in the same breath with Barry White.

On the other hand: I’d rather imagine something else. (Like Weiss reaching the limit of patience of even right-wing people who have the power to fire her…)

This is how I ran across that tweet:

“Infinity migrants from the third world”? Again, Republicans invent strawman arguments that (almost) no one is making.

And of course Stephen Miller himself is descended of poor migrants to America. (Googling, they came from Russia.) Most people who are already prosperous at home are uninterested in migration; if not for poor people searching for a better life, we wouldn’t see many new people.

The argument that, without immigrants, we wouldn’t have Stephen Miller is rather compelling in itself…

Scenes from the MAGA civil war: noted testicle-tanner Tucker Carlson (who in what I’m sure is a completely unrelated note just bought a house in Qatar) says naked ladies are a bigger threat to America than jihadists, gets yelled at by Ben Shapiro and Meghan McCain.

To be fair, it’s not just naked ladies that he’s afraid of. Women, in general, are a cause of terror for him.

“Justice” Alito would vote for SCOTUS to take the case, and would rule in her favor. He doesn’t even pretend to be an unbiased judge any more. And he would strain to come up with a reason (however implausible) why ruling in her favor doesn’t extend to future pardons by Democratic presidents. Maybe he will finally enshrine the principle into Supreme Court precedent that “It’s OK When Republicans Do It".

In the meantime, I fully expect him to do everything in his power to get her released by court order before the case is even heard. And I would be unsurprised if he can talk a few of the other conservative justices into going along with this, especially in an anonymous shadow docket ruling.
