Husted took donations from Epstein co-conspirator Les Wexner, then voted to...
Campaign records show Sen. Jon Husted took $116,892 from Les Wexner since 2001, including months before voting to block release of Jeffrey Epstein-related documents.
I actually saw a MAGA address this by stating that operas always have a program with translations. Not being an opera fan myself, I googled it and apparently that used to be the case, but these days the opera houses project subtitles above the stage or on seat-back screens.
They do indeed (and - fun fact - subtitles above the stage are actually “supertitles”).
I wouldn’t have minded subtitled translations for the Superbowl show, but it’s not worth clutching my pearls over.
They’ve been a thing since at least the ‘90s when my high school English class went on a couple of field trips to the opera.
Proof that they have absolutely nothing to do.
We turned on the closed captions, and they showed every word he was singing…
…in Spanish.
Just popping in to say no, opera singers are not “overwhelmingly” white. Probably more are than not, but there are plenty of non-white opera singers.
I’ve been to a couple of short operas in English.
It’s a lot harder to make a good rhyme than in Italian.
I have a smattering of high school Spanish left over from my teens along with what I pick up in an area with a significant Spanish-speaking population, and I caught some bits and pieces of the singing, but I thought the visuals were more than plenty for non-language-understanders to get something out of the performance, even if it wasn’t a literal translation of the words sung/rapped.
And boy was the message of that visual exactly what the RW trolls hate to see. Brown people of every shade getting along with each other, and with white people, while all are acting like the normal happy friendly people they are.
Not like the depraved monsters the RW propaganda machine has tried so hard for 30 years to portray them as.
No wonder the the usual RW talking spewing heads are incensed.
Last week I remembered that I had a cassette album by Menudo as a kid in the 80s. I played the crap out of that tape but didn’t understand one word.
(I think it was A Todo Rock, so I would have been maybe 6. Puerto Rican music is good.)
Edit: Ten seconds into listening to the opening track on YouTube, 100% it was A Todo Rock. Hadn’t heard in 40 years, but it’s unforgettable.
And being shown as hard workers, and business owners/operators.
“Well, basically there are two sorts of opera," said Nanny, who also had the true witch’s ability to be confidently expert on the basis of no experience whatsoever. "There’s your heavy opera, where basically people sing foreign and it goes like “Oh oh oh, I am dyin’, oh I am dyin’, oh oh oh, that’s what I’m doin’”, and there’s your light opera, where they sing in foreign and it basically goes “Beer! Beer! Beer! Beer! I like to drink lots of beer!”, although sometimes they drink champagne instead. That’s basically all of opera, reely.” - Nanny Ogg, Maskerade, Terry Pratchett
Not Pratchett but I’ve see a definition of opera being, “When you get stabbed, instead of dying you sing.”
And getting married. It’s almost like Puerto Ricans have American values!
American values
…if only they were.
“Problem” in the sense it was Kendrick Lamar rapping. Whites have got to white about it.
>ahem<
Plenty of White people are either fans of or indifferent to Lamar. Did you mean to say “Bigots have to bigot about it”?
I’m white, but yeah, that’s the sentiment.
Senator John Husted (R-OH) accepted thousands of dollars in “donations” from Epstein accomplice Les Wexner, then voted against releasing the Epstein files.

it’s that it is Latin music in Spanish.
As I was a choir boy throughout my High Anglican school career, I have sung in Latin, French and Spanish - albeit I did not understand them. (The Latin was easier, because it was mostly biblical stuff, so I could read my school issued Bible for a reference);
This board inspired me listen to Miley Cyrus, whose music I don’t like, but her lyrics and emotional delivery are pretty powerful, (albeit in English.)
I am now going to go find Bad Bunny’s tracks on my Spotify account as a small “fuck you” to Trump, in order to slightly increase his wealth.
Received this meme from Benny Johnson (fuck knows why I get served this shit). With a caption that included “America changed the channel on Bad Bunny’s Anti-American Halftime Show that wasn’t in English”
So, sorry folks, but it seems for the first time ever less than 100% of football fans watched all the non-football stuff.
(Assuming the data is even real of course)
