They make a pretense of it.
Also, I said “enablers”, i.e. the folks out there defending the ICE goons and their tactics.

Understood. I wasn’t disagreeing w your point; rather springboarding off of it.
When you combine fame, musical talent, and mental instability, this is what you’re gonna get.
Good thing I’m not famous.
On numerous reported occasions ICE have been presented with proof of citizenship or legal residency and simply declared “Those are fake” and detained the person anyway.
In conclusion: fuck you, Brett Kavanaugh.
West’s one and only goal is to get attention for himself. He doesn’t care at all what kind of attention.
We have a word for his kind, around here.
EDIT: removed section because I couldn’t locate cite.
My bold wouldn’t really be much of a factor. Sure, particular sectors of musicians have gotten (to whatever extent) that flaky rep, but I’d nitpick that the first and third factors are much more salient.
Fox News chyron: Saying the FCC is censoring talk shows is a liberal host
FCC chairman on Fox News at the same time: We will prosecute Stephen Colbert if he interviews the wrong people
What are they gonna do, fire Colbert?
The Pentagon hosted the head of a major Christian Nationalist church at a prayer service. This is the same far-right church that Hegseth is a member of. This is a church that doesn’t want women voting, covers up sexual abuse, thinks slaves were happy to be slaves, and has lots of hate in their hearts for people that aren’t like them.
What seems to me to be the obvious question is why does the Pentagon have a prayer service? Why can’t individuals pray on their own in private?
You’re not seen by men.
I’m sorry, what was that about men praying to see privates?
It’s the same reason that football coaches and players pray in a circle at the 50 yard line: God can’t hear you pray unless you make a big show of it.
Exactly, they’re showing God who they are: hypocrites.
“Whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray while standing in synagogues and on street corners so that people can see them. Truly I say to you, they have their reward! But whenever you pray, go into your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
– Matthew 6:5-6
Remember, anything in the Bible that conservatives don’t like is “woke” and needs to be ignored. Including a majority of everything Jesus advised.
Related to that is making BIG CROSSES, like the one in Groom, Texas:
190 feet tall. It’s like God won’t remember they exist unless they make a big show. Since this is on Rte 66, I see a lot of comments how “inspiring” it is to see it. If you think God needs this to know you are faithful, you obviously don’t understand your own religion.
I have a cross tattoo on my shoulder, but it’s always covered up, because it’s not for anyone else.
Certainly, the public nature of the praying is a problem. But there’s also the question of why the Pentagon is sponsoring or hosting a prayer service?
And yet wind turbines that tall are a blight on the landscape. ![]()
