NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 4)

I’d be in a lot better mood if Larry Fine was a Congressman, instead of this stooge.

No, as with dogs they are property, livestock precisely.

His rod and his staff they comfort me.

“slipperiest”

Well he didn’t pull it out of his ass, where most of this shit comes from. Apparently an aide to Zohran Mamdani did say that dogs should be banned in NYC, and that “New York City is coming to Islam.”

Now I’m against all the anti-Islam rhetoric coming from the Right, the accusations of trying to impose Sharia Law in Texas. It all sounds like paranoid delusions. Then someone makes a comment like the woman did and all the accusations start to sound a little plausible.

A woman named Nerdeen Kiswani did indeed tweet that, but I can’t find anything that says she’s an “aide” to Mamdani, let alone a “senior aide” as Fine suggests, or even that she’s worked for him in any way ever. She apparently runs a Palestinian activist group that calls for the destruction of the state of Israel, claims antisemitism is not a problem, and that 10/7 was a justified act of resistance. The only mention of Mamdani on her Wikipedia page is that she criticized him for condeming vandals who spray-painted swastikas on a yeshiva. Also, Kiswani has stated that her tweet was a satirical comment about New Yorkers not picking up dog poop and that she does not literally think NYC should ban dogs, and that she has never worked for Mamdani.

“Kristi Noem literally bragged about shooting her own dog and most of you did not bat an eyelash. A Muslim in NYC says maybe the city is not the best place for pets and it is days of death threats from MAGA and Zionists,” she wrote.

Kiswani told NBC News in an email that her original comment was “satire” based on a “hyper local NYC conversation” about dog waste in the city after the recent snowstorm, adding she was “satirizing Islamophobic hysteria portraying Mamdani’s mayoralty as a societal takeover.”

In short, Randy Fine is a racist bigot who cherry-picked the words of a radical extremist and is presenting them as official mayoral policy because doncha know all those browns are in cahoots.

Now you see, the newspaper should have clarified all of that. Proper journalism, anyway.

Thank you for bringing that information to my attention.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

No ifs about it. He was hung like this.

If he was hung, “The Passion of the Christ” would have been a very different movie

See ? Alaska isn’t just some backwater place that can’t keep up with more urban places. I am so proud !

(I hope I don’t need to indicate sarcasm in any way.)

I see a cabinet position in his future.:face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Senator John “Leghorn” Kennedy decided to take a cheap shot at AOC over the fact that she was briefly a bartender, which lead to him being called by… (checks notes) Anna Paulina Luna?

This thing must be broken.

I’m not exactly in the running for any political position in the USA due to my nationalities and country of birth, but what is wrong with the very working class job of bartender?

I have been both that and waitstaff.

Kennedy needs to have every drink and meal he orders in his local champagne and whiskeys bars spat in. I thought the ‘American Dream’ was supposed to be moving out of relative poverty to a decent comfort level.

(not that AOC was in actual poverty, but one takes that type of of job for two reasons - it is income, and it is flexible, allowing study or some other pursuit)

Senator Leghorn is southern gentry, who has never held a working-class job in his life and has been in politics since before AOC was born. His great-grandfather was literally a slaveowner.

The idea of one of the poors having the audacity to consider themselves worthy of holding the kind of office that his folk are entitled to by birthright absolutely shakes him to the core.
