Reactiviating the draft would take an act of Congress, and the idea is so politically toxic that anyone who votes yes on it might as well announce their retirement immediately afterward.
Pretty much zero chance of it happening, but I couldn’t put it past Trump to try to decree one in a 3 AM tweet.

We don’t need no stinkin’ freedom of religion!
WASHINGTON – A Republican lawmaker from Tennessee made comments on social media quickly condemned as Islamophobic after two men were accused of trying to ignite homemade bombs in New York City, in what authorities said was being investigated as an “act of ISIS-inspired terrorism.”
“Muslims don’t belong in American society,” Rep. Andy Ogles wrote on X , formerly Twitter, on March 9. “Pluralism is a lie.”
Ogles, an ultra-conservative member of the Freedom Caucus in the House of Representatives, posted the statement the same day the men were charged in the attempted bombing, which occurred on March 7.
Plus points for doing it during a certain time of the year.
Ogles’ comments, made on the first day of House Republicans’ annual week-long policy retreat in Doral, Florida, also came as the war in Iran rapidly intensifies . Muslim people around the world are also observing Ramadan , the annual holy month.

It’s worth noting that those two men were throwing IEDs at Gracie Mansion, the mayor’s residence, during an anti-Islam protest targeting Zohran Mamdani.

ISTR various Founding Fathers explicitly stating otherwise.
“The anti-Islam attack was inspired by Islam” is a fun take.

From what I understand, the alleged bombers were counter-protesters, and Muslims.
Fucking Andy Ogles. I hope he loses his seat this year. I would love some proper representation.

I dunno where to put this because Katie Hopkins is British (albeit far-far-right), but I need to share the horror of it.
If you haven’t seen the recent The Daily Show segment where Grace Kuhlenschmidt talks about “15-minute cities” , she invites Hopkins to come share her various batshit paranoid theories about how carless neighborhoods are the slippery slope to concentration camps. And after a bit of that, Hopkins shares her extremely personal views of the current president.
The last bit starts right at the six-minute mark. Be sure to have a vomit bucket ready.
By the way, you may remember Hopkins from this previous interaction on X:
More from the stupidest timeline ever:
I think she meant “cojones” but is too stupid to know the actual term. It’s like something Michael Scott from The Office would say.
Also, “cojones” comes from Spanish, and Spanish is spoken by dirty gang members and rapists in Mexico according to Trump and his cultists.
She’s right. Trump is in cahoots with a lot of stupid / evil people. Only he and they would go after Iran.
Is it just me, or is Alina Habba starting to look a lot like Laura Loomer?
It’s a cult. They are all trumpford wives. All hail trump!
Yeah, she went a bit heavy on the surgery. I guess they all do eventually. Hope the payday was worth it

Gotta say it, the stupidity from so many directions, it’s exhausting.
I’d have put that in the Reps are Evil thread, especially how the fucker’s doubled down.
With a panel from a Chick Tract no less.
