When my father acquired a can of lutefisk somewhere the rest of us refused to have anything to do with it.
One side of my family is from Minnesota. My aunt has mentioned making lefse, but I don’t remember hearing about lutefisk.
Fermented milk is common in my culture.
So I suppose fermented meat (land or sea) would be common in places where dairy is mostly absent. But good gosh does that stuff, especially fish, have an aroma that should more accurately be described as fumes. Eye-watering, nose-wrinkling, throat-closing fumes.
As was my father. But this was definitely not potato bread; we likely would have lapped that right up. This was canned fish that had the recommendation that be opened underwater. It didn’t help.
It’s better after you microwave the fish in the company break room.

This is essentially what Trump Asskisser, aka Roger Marshall, Senator from Kansas said in an interview on Newsmax earlier this week.
But this is another thing we can thank Joe Biden for that. That when millions of people came out of out of Central America, they brought this screwworm with them. It was on their pets, maybe on their flesh as well.
I didn’t realize that Biden was responsible for people entering Mexico from Central America, and then on into the USA. Never mind that the life cycle of the screwworm is about 21 days.
