NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 4)

Linked in that article:

Does she wear the cross, or does the cross wear her?

Republican motto: if you can’t grift the morons with it, it’s probably not worth doing.

This HAS to be satire, right? Right…?

‘The Nazis were too woke.’ ~ The American Conservative Movement

Nope.

Fascism American style - the only authoritarianism with its own merch!

Ridiculous. Absurb. Preposterous.

Everyone knows that Alcatraz is named after the pelicans, not alligators.

It’s a little too close to “Al-Qaeda” for my tastes.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Why are they giving it a Spanish name? We speak ENGLISH in America!

Lara Trump considering Senate run to replace retiring Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina. Many observers call the state a tossup in 2026.

Murican, surely? English is what those tyrannical English kings speak.

During 45, I followed suit when Dopers were calling for Trump’s impeachment. I sent email to Tillis, and he replied that it was all a smear campaign led by Nancy Pelosi.

Since then, he’d been sending emails about bipartisan legislation that he sponsored, as well as the occasional poll.

Now that he can’t be behind Trump 100%, he’s giving up what little backbone he had left. /sigh

GOOD GOD, NO!!!

I heard about Tillis’ decision not to run for re-election yesterday, and was wondering who the GOP was going to select to take his place. Not that I would ever consider voting for them; I have consistently voted against Tillis in every election. I recently sent him an email urging him not to vote for the Big Beautiful Bill and got a non-answer in which he claimed to be in support of maintaining Medicaid, etc, but also claiming that “Like President Trump, I’m committed to protecting and strengthening Medicaid by cracking down on waste, fraud, and abuse, especially when it comes to enacting work requirements for able-bodied adults.”

I’m hoping the Democrats can come up with an opponent capable of whoever the GOP tries to put in Tillis’ place.

Here is a massively stupid motherfucker: Anthony Kennedy is concerned about the decline in civil public discourse and the difficulties that judges are encountering when going up against Felon-ONE.

This guy retired from the Supreme Court and recommended Brett fucking Cavanaugh to replace him. He has no goddam room to complain. He created the mess he is whining about. Fuck this piece of shit.

But the ‘alligator’ tacked onto the beginning makes it okay.

Kind of like a white husband tacked into an immigrant wife makes her okay.

Lara is from North Carolina originally, but has been living in Florida for a number of years with her husband. But I guess she’d rent an apartment and claim, “I live here now!”

Then again, if the backlash against Trump continues to escalate, nominating someone with the last name “Trump” might hand that seat to the Democrats.

It worked for Liddy Dole.

Yeah, I know there is precedence. And when the residency requirement was added to the US Constitution, they considered including a duration but decided not to include it, so there’s nothing legally wrong with that tactic. But I’d also hope that voters consider that this person is claiming to represent them when she hasn’t had anything to do with their state for a very long time. (The “carpetbagger” issue.) It hasn’t stopped people in the past, though, as you point out.

I’m guessing if you look closely at long-tenured Senators, you’d find that many (most) of them don’t actually still live in their state. Our Trump-loving toady, Roger Marshall, lives in Florida, but maintains a hunting cabin back in Kansas as his ‘official’ residence.
