I have around 3500g and my faction discount will make Artisan Flying 4250g. Should I set myself back a bit and buy dual-spec? It sounds like a good idea right now being able to spec in both MM and BM.
OMG VOLLEY IS GONE
I will miss you, awesome DPS attack.
Dual spec is down to 100g now, so go ahead and grab it.
I know. ![]()
NOW what is an alliance hunter to do when she zones into WG and finds the horde camping the gy? ![]()
Hah. I KNEW there was a reason I was holding off on it for my Warlock.

So I disabled ALL add-ons so I could buy some food.
Now, a question: Do y’all REALLY not mind this lag/latency thing and you can play “around” it?
You don’t mind that you and your mount are staggering around like a couple of drunks, bumping into walls and falling into the canal together?
Here in GA it’s 9:15 and I HAD to get out of the game before I wound up throwing the GODAMM computer through the window.
And yes, I re-started the computer, de-fragged, everything I knew to do, but the screen and all the action is still very jumpy. It’s usually like this only in Dal or SW when both are really crowded and I can deal with that. But I can’t deal with it in combat.
So again: y’all really don’t mind it, accept it as part of the game and keep your cool?
Thanks

There may be server issues, Quasi. I’ve seen an announcement of rolling restarts for all servers tomorrow morning, which probably means they’re fixing something.
Quasi, I’m having major problems with lag, too. It’s right on the edge of being non-playable for me right now. I’m hoping it’s temporary and will settle down as this patch shakes out.
Count me among those having problems with the updating.
I had gotten the update via the background updater no problem. However, I have a smallish (70GB) C: drive and it’s generally full of stuff already. I really ought to wipe and reinstall XP but I’ve been lazy, and now i’m holding out until I can buy a new desktop. So only having 5 free gigs of space was not enough for the installer.
So I see the forum post about downloading and installing the game directly at 4.01, I follow the handy link to battle.net and go to my game account page, only to download the old installer for 3.2 or whatever. ![]()
Took me a while to actually find the new 4.01 WOW installer, but now I’m having problems getting my game verified after getting past the red files. So I’m trying another time with the 4.01 installation. I have to say I like the new updating system better. But then again, I’m used to Guild Wars and their patching which is sooo much easier, imo.
Updates like this do always seem to bog down the servers. Probably all the extra burden from people downloading the patch and such are making it worse.
Thanks, guys. I guess the OCD part of me is making me flip out - especially since I had hoped to reach 80 by day’s end on Friday. Right now, I’m at 54% to 79. I’m gonna set the alarm for 3 am and see if it’s any better then.
Thanks

I must say I’m bummed that relics/librams/etc now are just stat sticks like any other stat stick. I liked the funky little effects they had.
Ugh, and there are serious Mac graphical issues. I had to edit my config.wtf file to force the game to use the old graphics engine. That made the game playable, but still pretty laggy, and no new water effects or “sunshafts”. I have most of my graphics settings turned all the way down as well.
Some observations after playing my pally for a bit:
• General combat approach/rotation hasn’t changed a lot at this point, just need to figure out how to work new abilities in
• Hand of Reckoning no longer damages enemies - it’s just a taunt now.
• My drakes no longer flap their wings when simply flying forward. They just soar.
• When landing on the Skybreaker airship, make sure the deck isn’t sliding out from under you before you dismount. This may have just been a lag issue, but I landed on the deck, drake’s feet flat on the deck, and continued to slide backwards as if I wasn’t actually touching the deck. This led to me falling straight through the entire ship as soon as I dismounted. To my death. Which brings me to …
• A new feature Quasi should find helpful: a “Return to Graveyard” button. When you release your spirit and appear in the GY, this button appears at the top of the screen and remains there until you find your corpse and rez. So if you get lost, or your corpse is someplace you can’t get to, you can click that button and be returned to the GY instead of having to find your way back to it.
• When I died in Icecrown after falling from the airship, I was not provided with a spirit gryphon. I had to run. Odd.
• 310% flight speed is nice. But I’d rather have my 5000g back.
Well, off to fool with my mage some. FIRE! Heh heh heh … FIRE!
Has anyone else experienced their floating damage text - you know, how it says how many points of damage you hit an enemy for in combat - being buggy? It’s spotty when doing solo kills, but never appears at all in instances. I have no idea how much damage I’m doing except through watching Skada.
That is really odd. So if you die on a high ledge somewhere you have to eat the spirit rez? That’s hosed!
Well that’s enough to piss me off. I decided to queue for a random heroic on my mage, got into the dungeon, set a table, buffed and got buffed, and then the whole game locked up and I had to force-quit. When I logged back in, I was at Nesingwary Base Camp in Sholazar, with a random dungeon cooldown
Fortunately, according to this blue post, it’s gonna be fixed.
Also, is it just an oversight in the RDF window, or is the first random of the day really only giving extra gold now, and no Justice Points (in lieu of Frosts)?
No, you get Justice Points too. Some for each boss and some for completing the dungeon.
I got my priest and pally set up (with their primary specs, at least) and working well enough to run some randoms:
Pally: It’s going to be hard getting used to having more than three healing spells. The heals are all new, the buffs are different enough, and grid/clique isn’t working, so it was a challenge to heal ToC. Also when I got dismounted from my wolf after the jousting portion, my pet bar didn’t go away and I had to /reloadui. I also didn’t have my timers working so I couldn’t see when Beacon was up. Definitely need practice and my addons to come back.
Priest, on the other hand, was a faceroll. Most of the spells are the same, with an extra heal thrown in and I got to play around a bit with Chakra. The craziest thing was that with 5-man buffs, my mana regen was 850 in combat and 1200 out of combat. I literally could not run out of mana, even trying to. With the Prayer of Healing Chakra active I could just spam CoH and PoH forever I think. Or Holy Nova a whole instance.
Anyway, next session I’ll have to work on my priests shadow spec, and maybe get a dual spec for the pally. Hopefully I can get grid/clique up and running again my Monday night’s raid.
I think Blizz is going to owe us all 24 hours of free play. I just checked in and it’s gone from bad to worse.

Anyone know the deal with elemental leatherworking? My erm pants are now disabled saying I don’t have elemental leatherworking. I trudged out to the trainer and all he says is something like ‘do your really know why you’re here?’ and isn’t teaching me anything. I scanned the patch notes a few times but couldn’t find any mention of a change.
