New WoW General Discussion Thread 6/8/10

You can buy all arena gear under 2000 rating no matter what the vendor tells you, that means you can buy everything but the top level weapons and the top level shoulders.

Thanks for the link…I’m trying to figure out the caps needed wrt 4.0, if you know them off the top of your head, for Belf Pally.

You should be around 8% hit and 26 expertise, that’s with the glyph that gives you 10 expertise with Seal of Truth up. Reforge some of your dodge/parry into mastery and that’s about all I can think of.

And 10 man Lich King has apparently been 5 manned. Just finished watching the videos and it looked like a lot of fun.

She’s been pulling that line for well near 15 years, hasn’t she? I fail at timeline.

Thrall’s wishing he could have killed the Lich King himself just so Arthas could tell him what he did whenever she fed him that line.

The one I was using was frazzled beyond repair, so I found one on eBay with a warrior printed upon it.

Because it was reasonably priced, I did one of those “buy it now” options and went ahead and paid.

A nano-second after the confirmation, I got an another mail and guess what it was about?

This company wants to sell me a warranty on it.

I know it was probably robot-generated, but it was still funny as hell!

Thanks

During Brewfest one night in SW, I had occasion to send Double L some stuff to auction, and, as I was standing there finishing up, around the corner came these (looked like) 10 guys, all dressed alike - the only thing different being their hair color - in burgundy looking robes.

Next thing I knew, they had positioned themselves around the SW fountain in the trade center as if they were a choir, stayed that way for a few minutes and then walked away in single file.

Not thinking too clearly (;)), I clicked on one of them and complimented him on their “schtick”. He didn’t answer. NPC’s right?:smack::D:rolleyes:

So did anyone else see them, or was I having one of my hallucinations?

Thanks

Q

Not NPCs - they’re gold spammers and hackers. If you’d stuck around, they would have started floating in the air and spelling out the name of their Web site, and maybe make heart shapes.

Some of those asswipes were in Stormwind on my server. Their newest tactic is to roll several hunters, level them to 10 and charm a bear pet, then name the pets to spell out “Buy gold at wewillhackyouraccountandemptyyourguildbankyoudumbass.com” (artistic license taken), and line the pets up in front of the bank. I reported them, and organized a mammoth parking jamboree to make their lives difficult.

Aw, hell.

Okay, I just got back from getting my ass kicked in the Alterac Valley, but I have a question: are my enemies there a mix of monster and human (Horde)? Because I WAS able to kill about 6 and Horde humans usually kill ME.

Again, everything happened so quickly I just followed the crowd and DPS’d the best I could.

I think I probably need to leave this one alone till my gear improves.

However, again my honor points have dropped significantly. Last night I left with 593. Tonight I logged in and it was 575, and after Alterac, it’s back up to 596.

Thanks

You just reminded me of the first time I got to Dal and there was an impromptu mammoth parade. It just kept on going until there was a giant mambo line of mammoths wandering through the streets!

Yeah yeah, sure. He ‘imprinted’ on humans young, he was sweet on Taretha, and Jaina (last I knew) has that big, lonely, unguarded area for rooms and the ability to open portals damned near anywhere, including in Thrall’s throne room. And no obvious Alliance beau. Mmhmm.

Once you go green, don’t want human bein’…

OK, just finished WG with 662 HP, (completed 2 quests).

Tonight while waiting to go in, I was attacked and killed. Was this one of my BG? I noticed a lot of kids were in it - so is this possible, that someone would do that? I was rezzed in the graveyard, so when the battle began I was already there.

WOOHOO! FOR THE HORDE!!!

Man, I have a great guild! That was just…awesome!

ETA: Sorry…that was incoherent. My guild just completed For The Horde on Garrosh. <singsong>I got a warbeeear!</singsong>

What do they know that you don’t, hrm?

ARE WARRIORS NEXT ON THE NERF BLOCK?!?!

:stuck_out_tongue:

Congratulations!!

Some days I really miss having a guild that’s more than just me and my alts.
Then I stroll through Goldshire and the complete idiocy makes me feel better about going solo. :stuck_out_tongue:

Quasi–AV does have some NPCs to kill, but it is unlikely you encountered them unless you tried to cap a graveyard, tower, or mine; entered Galv’s bunker–he’s a mini-boss; or entered the Horde starting area/Drek’s bunker.

WG is a PVP zone. As soon as you enter, horde can attack you, even if the battle is not currently in progress. Some of them are asswipes that like to hide up on the roof and cheapshot people as they zone in.

Yeah, I figure it’s frustration. Horde on Lightbringer can’t win WG, so instead they make it as painful as possible for Alliance to reap any of the benefits of our victories.

Some Quasi-Q’s

  1. Mail: If Wolkie sends auctionable items to Double L, can that take an hour and does latency affect the mail system. I ask because Double L’s been getting his auction mail immediately, but one “sent” event hasn’t arrived in his box in SW.

  2. Attacking a neutral (yellow) animal. Is that considered “bad manners” if you’re doing it to farm leather and if you’re the only player in that location? For instance, I like mammoths and don’t want to kill them, but they drop borean leather - a big money maker for me.

  3. Strange night. Haven’t slept well lately (new meds), and tonight at Vanguard, I ran up on a player who was an orc and he was killing spiders, but not skinning them. I had mistaken him for a crusader NPC and was going to help with the kill when I realized he wasn’t an NPC, so I quickly stepped back and was going to wsp him, and I clicked on his head, but didn’t see that option, so I waved at him and he waved back. Since I could not wsp, I asked out in the open (white writing) if I could skin, and he answered back with some non-sensical gibberish with this [orc] in front to explain it. I never COULD get him to speak normally and finally he waved goodbye and left. WTF?

  4. WG score: 726 at the end of the BG. 10 minutes later, 702.

I guess some people took my guild name seriously (it’s floating over my head along with my name) and helped me out getting me back to the battle, because it looked like there was always someone helping me out by getting me through those corridors and waiting for me to catch up to the group.

  1. Question about my First Aid: to make a wool bandage I have to have 50 wool cloths for skill level 80-115 (I’m a 200 now). According to the screen for it, I have 49 bandages made and need just one more. Well, I have 20 in one of my bags - why isn’t the game taking one of them? And this isn’t just wool, I have linen cloths and other material too in my bags, LOTS of 'em. I don’t understand why, so can someone explain, because I don’t know if I should vendor them or save them.

Thanks

Quasi did you ever get an answer regarding your missing honor points? I had a GM contact me about my missing Champion’s Seals and it is a known problem. We mentioned this on this thread a few pages back but now each Champions Purse now awards a Seal by default, previously it used to sometimes contain a Seal. However it seems these Seals will sometimes disappear from your currency tab after you log off. The GM did suggest not changing zones before you log off which has sometimes worked for me but not consistently.

I tanked my first LK dungeon on my DK successfully last night, very nervous about it all but only lost aggro a couple of times to an Elemental Shaman who was pumping out about 200 more DPS than anyone else, I love Death Grip. My Holy Paladin is now a PVP God after a couple of Wrathful upgrades. Though we lose to Horde regularly in BGs, we usually have Wintergrasp however, I am often now topping the Healing Done and HK count for the Alliance after very battle.

Mail between characters on the same account is instant, mail across accounts takes (I think) 2 hours. There is a limit of 50 to how many mail items you can ‘see’ in the postbox, if you have more mail items than this they will appear after a couple of minutes.

Kill them and skin them, that’s what they are there for.

You speak different languages – Horde and Alliance cannot communicate in chat apart from using emotes. If he isn’t skinning his corpses just go ahead and skin them he obviously isn’t a skinner or isn’t a high enough level skinner.

Not sure I understand can you rephrase this a bit? What level First Aid are you at the moment you say 200 but then mention getting from 80-115??
