…I’m sorry, but I have to ask.

Has anyone seen a bear cub miss the trampoline? Of course I couldn’t do it myself, but someone has to have done it. Please tell me it’s as the quest text says - ‘nothing can go wrong with this plan.’

Overall, I’m kinda iffy on the spawn rate right now. They need to keep a steady stream of mobs, but at the same time, they often spawn right in the same spot so you’re stuck fighting a chain of 5 of them before you can get away.

My fox makes an excellent tanking pet, which is odd, being Cunning and all.

As jayjay mentioned in a previous post, I am no Speedy, so I’m going to let the new quest places clear out a bit before going there. They’re so fucking crowded right now, I can’t see clearly enough to pick my battles or wheher another player is already fighting - sometimes it’s wardens alone fighting, but sometimes wardens are already being assisted by another real player and they sure don’t need me in there.

PPS: Oh yeah, for 3-d games, you need to choose 8 channel to get the full effect!

Oh my - one of the few PvP’s I’ve enjoyed in the game:

The Alliance attacked Orgrimmar. I’m not sure how it started, but when I came in there was a whole bunch of level 85 Alliance holed up in the Valley of Strength Auction House. They were quiet entrenched.

Then someone had the bright idea of fetching Gamon…

You remember Gamon, don’t you? The sad-sack drunk used as a punching bag for years? The same Gamon who just upgraded to a level 85 Elite with a bajillion hit points, right?

Yeah, that Gamon.

several people kited him into the AH, whereupon all hell broke loose, mostly on the Alliance, who either didn’t realize he was an 85 Elite now tuned for groups, or who mistook him for a player Tauren, or… well whatever the case, he smote mightily. And, of course, we helped.

A few minutes later there were like 40 dead Alliance in the AH.

Gamon apparently was still pissed - he emerged to start hacking away at us, but he was almost dead at that point and our side took care of him handily.

It was EPIC.

Well, when I started, I was actually pointed in the exact opposite direction - but I couldn’t do it, and turned around. I’m hoping there’s no splatty-ness involved.

Got a phishing whisper ingame from a level 1 warrior pretending to be a Blizz GM. Very clumsy and obvious but it still pissed me off to no end. The goldseller whispers were bad enough.

Dear Climatectrl (ha ha very funny. no really) the level 85 Mage of the guild ‘Shes Fat im Drunk its ON’ (really?? this is the best stupid guild name you guys can come up with?? I’ll bet my mortgage you’re all virgins) killing the NPCs in Darkshore to annoy the newly rolled Worgen may make you feel all clever, big and strong but in fact it makes you a dick.

It’s official - playing a Rogue in battlegrounds is more fun than, well, the most funnest (new word alert) thing. Fear me anything wearing a dress.

Yeah, I know. For the first five minutes I was trying to hit the enemy jousters from above, till I realized it didn’t matter one way or the other.

I can still see it driving the people who hate vehicle quests (paging Mister Rik…) doubleplus insane with rage.

Also, hurrah to Blizzard for figuring out how to do a Battle for the Undercity-style event without it being interminable and boring. There’s a similar thing at the end of the Hyjal quest chain, only (1) it doesn’t go on forever (2) you feel like you’re actually contributing something instead of just cheering on the big-name NPC’s.

And: wow, is Twilight’s Hammer the stupidest secret conspiracy ever, or what? I mean, the bar for intelligence in evil conspiracies is set pretty darn low, but still…

So tried queing up for my first heroic last night… blackrock caverns.

In the end we were able to get two bosses down before calling it quits because of too many wipes on the third boss (i think we had the mechanic down, but our best attempt was only getting him to like 30%).

I have to say: It was pretty fun trying to figure out how exactly a boss fight works without just looking at the internet for every little detail. Maybe our gear level was still just too low, but it was also fun that the bosses were pretty brutal… but i’ll probably be waiting till theres enough guild members to make up most of the group before queing again.

For now i’ll be working on grinding some rep to get the rep rewards.

I’m almost done with Uldum. Spoilers ahoy for the Harrison Jones quests.

I love Indiana Jones, and I love WoW lore. So, naturally, when Muradin came out from the no-it’s-NOT-the-Ark-of-the-Covenant and called Harrison Jones “Junior,” I about died of glee.

I also found out that my-friend-the-tank hasn’t seen those movies, so I’m making him watch them before he does that zone. Because, come on.

In other news, I’m at 84. Almost there…

I enjoyed the hell out of the three heroics I did this weekend (Caverns, Vortex, and Tol’vir).

Was the third boss the forgemaster? We wiped on that a good number of times before figuring out how to keep the stacks manageable (although on the kill it got out of hand so we got the 15 stacks achievement by accident).

The only boss we didn’t eventually kill was Beauty in Blackrock Caverns - just didn’t have enough usable CC for the pups. Fortunately she’s optional, so we still finished out the dungeon.

And I agree, it’s been a lot of fun to actually work out strategies real-time, examining buffs and de-buffs and whatnot, even with PuGs. I’ve been quite impressed by the level of most of the players, but that is possibly because the only people actually queuing up from heroics at this point are pretty solid players. I’ve heard stories of 3k DPS and what-not, so maybe I’ve just been lucky.

I am a bit worried (maybe that’s the wrong word) that some heroic nerfs are incoming, because they are possibly too hard for your “average” PuG at this point. Although the next level of gear will obviously change that…

OH, and on the Harrison Jones stuff, I had just watched the movie on Friday (my wife had never seen it and it was on TNT) so I was busting up with all of the right-out-of-the-movie jokes.

Correction to my spoiler.

Brann, not Muradin. :smack:

What’s the expected minimum for 85 heroics? You make it sound like 3k DPS is equivalent to 700 DPS for 80 heroics.

Finished Vash last night, and that’s a pretty cool climax at the end of that zone. Didn’t have enough time to run Throne of Tides yet (the only instance I’ve “discovered”) but I should be able to do it tonight before going back to Hyjal on my priest.

3k DPS is the equivalent of 700 at 80, IMO. In that it absolutely not enough unless you have a godly healer, geared tank, and the other two are over 10k.

I haven’t gotten a great read of what the “heroic minimum” is, but 5-7k on bosses should be pretty attainable in normal 5-man gear (i.e. 333 level). Our guild runs had me as the 3rd DPS at around 8-10k on bosses. Others were consistently over 10k.

As a side note though, for those planning on stepping into heroics - mechanics matter! Big time. Healers go OOM like crazy, and taking extra damage as a DPS is just not acceptable. And there are many mechanics that will literally one-shot you. If you can self-heal, or have a defensive cool-down, use them. Your healers may not thank you, but you might save a wipe if a heal goes to you that should have gone to a tank.

Also, if you can CC, please do - everything will go much better. Feel free to volunteer - put up a moon and say you’ll sheep it (or whatever). Obviously that also means breaking CC is no longer acceptable.

Obviously all of this will loosen up as gear goes up, but right now there are a number of pulls that are really tough. And accidental over-pulls are almost always wipes. Hell, broken CC can be a wipe too.

Unless it all gets nerfed soon - the QQ in the Blizzard forums is deafening.

ETA: Perhaps a better way of putting it is that 3k at 85, no matter what your gear is, means you are almost certainly doing something wrong (i.e. wrong talents, wrong rotation, just auto-attacking).

The forced reduction in AOE should at least make CC more viable. I wanted to practice Polymorph in 80 heroics, but even after 4.0.1 people were still just letting loose on the entire pack without coordination.

I’d like to know how they managed to kite Gamon over to where he could do some good. His charge and cleave (I dunno if it’s really a cleave, but still) are hella destructive. Tank kiting with heal support, I guess, but in the middle of a PvP raid? Daring. And well played.

I suspect the word is going around in the Alliance on servers all over: “Do NOT piss off Gamon.”

He sincerely sounds worse than Saurfang was back in the day. We may need a line of new “Gamon Facts”.

I’m totally bummed - I’ve tried to run that final quest multiple times and it’s hopelessly bugged for me, or on my server, or whatever. MOST annoying. Have a ticket in, expect to get an answer in 2-3 days so I moved to Mt. Hyjal in the meanwhile.
