You only get advances from gathering them yourself. You will need to go to an area relevant for levelling herbalism from 141 to 150
As One And Only Wanderers says you only credit get for picking herbs yourself. I would suggest you go to Northern Stranglethorn as they are lots of herbs in this range.
Lotsa good progress this week. Started with Bastion, and put in a half-dozen Cho’gall attempts before it got too late to continue. Once we got the positioning, MCs, and avoidable stuff out of the way we were ~5% too slow on the DPS.
Moved onto BWD and one-shot Maloriak (first time this group had fought him, but maybe 4-5 of us had done the fight before). Very pleased with how that went! Didn’t have any time to look at Nef.
And then, last night, 8 of us were able to come for an extra night to work on Cho’gall, and we were able to down him after 4-5 more attempts. Really was completely about DPS balance (having the right amount on the adds vs. the boss). The fact that the guild feral tank we subbed in did 13k (:o) DPS on the boss didn’t hurt…
So now it’s on to Nefarion and Al’akir… based on the group’s feeling we’ll probably actually try Nef first.
Tried my 1st ever raid yesterday. It was just a PUG trash run on BoT, so no bosses to worry about. I was fairly pleased whn I hit #2 in the DPS chart with about 10k DPS. I know it’s nothing much in the grand scheme, but it was a first attempt.
Here is a decent Herbalism leveling guide. For your situation, go to Hillsbrad Foothills and up to the mountains of Alterac. The maps are quite helpful to help you level up quickly in the right places.
I wish there were a loot-all button, because when I fight those mobs in the Valley of Forgotten Heroes (those guys with chains around them?) and kill them all with bladestorm, the game only gives me a certain amount of time before I can loot them all.
True, maybe it’s just one or two I miss, but they may be the ones with the frostweave cloths, which is a big seller for me.
Speaking of which, I now have a pretty decent auction going and it’s no problem making my goal of 150 g’s a night.
The only thing is, some high-value single items (“The Dildo Device of The Buggerer”, for example), don’t move, so into the bank they go. Or to the vendor.
If I only have a few of what stacks, such as 2 arctic furs, I bank them until I get 10 together.
As I said before, I don’t play the same way everyone else does, but this works for me.
Thanks

There isn’t a “loot-all” button, but you CAN turn on Autoloot and get everything from an individual corpse in one swoop. Open up your menu (the little computer picture on your bar). Go to “Interface”. Then “Combat”. The last checkbox should be for Auto Loot. Make sure it’s checked. Then close that pane and “Return to Game”.
When you right-click on a sparkly corpse now, you should automatically pick up everything it’s got.
We can’t really critique your gear from a screenshot of your login screen. You’d need to post a link to your armory page for that. Just visually, I’d say Wolkie’s looking good.
Well, besides the male human harelip/Mask/Vincent thing. Seriously…three expansions and they still haven’t made the ugly models better?
Two heals/two tanks worked perfectly for Cho’gall, especially with consistent slows on the adds, so that’s 11/12 down as of pretty early last week (I think it was Wednesday?). We spent some time working on Nef and made some progress, but we’ve still got a ways to go. (We’re mostly dying in the middle of ph2; I think we had one attempt where we made it to ph3 with more than one person alive.) Hopefully we can down him this week: he’s the last kill we need for our titles and our guild phoenix mounts.
We also had some fun with Heroic Halfus; a lot of our time was spent just playing around with different strats. We finally came to the conclusion that just busting everything loose at the beginning is the best way to go for us, but we didn’t have time to keep playing around with it. Maybe this week!
Speaking of guild rewards, the guild my Alliance alts are in on Area 52 hit 20–helms ahoy! … Or, they *would *be ahoy, except that you need to be Honored to buy them, and my Druid is still stuck in early Neutral, even though she’s quested most of the way to 50. Dammit, Blizzard, give me some better rep!
This change is a clear response to the previously announced 4.1 change that involves Shield Bash: the update that will make all non-damaging interrupts impossible to miss with. The only affected ability that is seeing additional nerfs is Shield Bash, despite the fact that it has the longest cooldown of any of the short-CD interrupts. The three features that distinguish SB from these other interrupts are (a) the Daze effect, (b) the length of its baseline lockout; and (c) its Talented Silence. When Shield Bash is made unmissable, only in PvP would those mechanics present any sort of a balance problem.
I always feel so guilty when I have a pet running along behind me.
I wish they’d jump up and ride with you.
Congrats! I haven’t even seen a single rarespawn in any of the new zones–other than one that was a corpse before I got there.
Well, that means one of two things. Or some combination thereof.
1.) You’re applying to guilds that aren’t a good match for what you want to do. Are you apping to social guilds and saying you want to raid, or apping to raiding guilds without a lot of experience?
2.) Your application doesn’t accurately reflect who you are as a player. Common mistakes include: not running spellcheck; running together questions instead of separating them out to make the app easy to read; skipping questions; giving incomplete answers. Make sure your character is in the best possible shape before you post your application, too: Nothing turns me off a potential trial like seeing a bunch of gear that’s ungemmed/chanted, for example. It’s like wearing flip-flops to a job interview.
As someone who’s helped to review applications for a number of guilds (and been accepted into every one I’ve ever apped to), I’d be happy to take a look over any of your apps and offer some constructive feedback, and/or help you put together your next one.
1.) If Time is up, as soon as he’s free, you need to start dodging all the AOE you can. That means, when there’s a puffing circle of fire around your feet, you need to strafe out of it.
2.) If Whatshisface is up (the one between Halfus and the whelps), he needs to come out first and interrupts need to be on the boss for every single Shadow Nova. That damage is huge, hits the entire raid, and is unavoidable.
3.) Everyone needs to stay spread out. Stacking on other people means that the unavoidable damage from the Behemoth will hit more people. It also means everyone has to move more often when the fireballs are dodgeable.
4.) Because you get a DPS boost for every drake you kill, and you take less damage the more drakes you free, you actually want to burn all of your major CDs (including Lust/Hero/TW) ASAP, on the first drake, as soon as the tank has aggro (helping with MD/Tricks).
The price on the tooltip (when you mouseover the item) isn’t the undercut price. It’s the average price based on what you’ve seen historically.
What might be helpful for you would be to switch to Auctionator. It’s a simpler interface with fewer options, and its Sell tab actually works a lot better for what you want to do (i.e., barely undercut the cheapest price currently on the market). If you’re interested, let me know, and I’ll send you some instructions on how to set it up.
IIRC, Heirlooms are scaled to be the equivalent of Rare (blue) items for the given level. An Epic item would have better stats. Especially if you equip it as soon as you’re able, it will probably have better stats than what your Heirloom chest is scaled to–although you *would *miss out on the XP bonus.
That’s the one thing I miss–I really liked being able to just breeze my way through 2, 3, and even 5-man group quests on my own (especially when I was less geared and had to really use all my skills to make it through). I think the tradeoff is absolutely worth it, though.
Dunno what your goal is, but if it’s leveling ASAP, you want to always take your characters to TwiHi the second they ding 84. It’s monstrous XP–even better than dungeons AFAIK.
It’s hard to tell since Elites sometimes have special abilities, but generally speaking you should be able to take them on without any problems.
Rare items that are needed for high-end recipes often fetch impressive sums. If you’re not sure that you’re seeing accurate numbers, look the item up on Wowhead. It will give a general average of what the items costs at auction. Obviously YMMV based on your server, but it’s a nice way to get a ballpark figure.
Looking handsome! I can’t actually check his gear from here, but I’ll try to remember to look when I get home. (Please remind me if I forget!)
The Temple of Earth is the big honkin’ pillar smack-dab in the middle of the zone. If you look at the zone map, you can see that it shows the entrance on the southern side of the pillar. So just fly to the middle of the zone and then fly around the outside near the ground until you see the opening.
I think Auctioneer has a module called Bean Counter, but I’m not sure exactly how it works or how to set it up.
Just a side note, but you’ll want to make sure those guides were updated for Cata. Some zones changed quite a bit, including shifting levels, so they also now have different herb and ore nodes in them.
Yeti, that link doesn’t work, but I took your advice and flew to Stranglethorn and picked up what I needed which made me a Herb Gatherer, and I learned “Lifespell”, so thanks!

Here we are: World of Warcraft

SFG,
You know? I can actually pull up my auction in the Armory and see my totals, and if all goes well, I’ll clear 200 today. Artisan Riding is 4250 g’s unless I’m exalted with SW, right?
Damn, I’m sooooo close, but I still have a tiny bit of black space to go from revered and it seems like it’s been there forever.
Someone told me to do more SW quests and last night I picked up the pumpkin one in Elwynn and the fish one at Thunder Falls. Those 2 are dailies.
I want to give Wolkie a financial “cushion”, so I’m gonna go all the way to 6K g’s before I buy the artisan riding skill and he’s more than half way already.
Plus I like paying the alts 25 g’s every Friday, so I’ll have to farm a lot. I don’t mind it though. I do it inbetween Deepholm and it makes the gamre that much more interesting.
Thanks
Q
Yeah, I have that going, but even so, i can’t maneuver quick enough between the bodies to loot them all every time. Sometimes I make it, sometimes I don’t, ![]()

I’ll let people that play warriors provide most of the critique, but from what I see, your next priorities for upgrades should probably be the neck, back, and the Crusader’s Locket in your 2nd trinket slot. The item level on those pieces is around 170ish, and you want stuff with an item level around 280 or better.
Actually, your first upgrade should be your chestpiece, since you still have Intellect on it. At the absolute least, if you can’t find anything that’s more suited to a warrior (str, stam, hit, crit, haste, expertise, and mastery (not necessarily in that order except for the first two or three) are the stats you want), get thee to a reforger and reforge some of the Intellect to Strength. But that will cost you about 12g, so you’re probably better off trying to find a quest that will get you something better or else watching the AH to see what turns up.
Watcha doin’, Quasi? Killing all 10 then looting? Why don’t you just loot as you kill…kill 1, loot it, kill the next, loot it?
jay, there are singles walking around, and then there are like 8 with their Standard Bearer. I can’t kill just one of those 8. I target them and then wade into them. Believe me, it’s much quicker that way to get money and frostweave. So, I have to kill them as a group.
See, that also fulfills my one daily that I can do at the Argent Tournament grounds (to kill 10 of those guys). After I do that (kill 10), I just hang around and kill maybe 6 of those groups and then head back to my quest giver at Argent.
Thanks
Q
Yeah, I know about that chestpiece, Info, but I didn’t know it could be reforged. Is that an NPC, or do I just ask on Trade for someone. I wouldn’t mind spending the 12 g’s as opposed to 1k on the AH, which I surf from time to time hoping I see something i want to spend money on.
Thanks
Q
Ask a guard. “Reforger” or “Reforging” should be an option, and they’ll give you an arrow and a flag to where the guy is.
