You know what they should have considered? Let the VP/JP I earn on my tank be assigned or transferred to a DPS alt. Or say that I can queue on my tank, but any gear I win with Greed rolls becomes BOA (this is probably not technically feasible considering how gear is stored in the DB).
Lots more code, but then I have a reason to keep queuing on my tank; to gear out my alts. More tanks queue, less DPS queue = normalized queue times.
Urgh. Okay, that won’t work then. I forgot about that part.
I wonder…if a whole bunch of shitty tanks enter the pool and get vote-kicked, will a good tank coming in to a group who just kicked a fail tank, maybe even a few bosses in, get the goodies if they only do a boss or two including the final boss? From the way it’s worded it sounds like it might. I would love nothing better than to join the queue, get put into a group that’s mostly finished a dungeon, waltz in and help them down the last boss, grab my goodies and go.
Though I do agree with you that there will be shittier tanks, there is a difference between shitty tank and undergeared tank. If the OP-dps can start CCing and not getting aggro, it’ll go a long way to avoiding wipes for an undergeared or undeveloped tank.
I know people want to blow through the dungeons now that they’ve seen them a bunch, but it’s the same reason I don’t queue on my tank… I don’t want to hold everyone up. Now I’ll have a reason to try. (and maybe get a few leather-spell items that no one can use cept my chicken)
Unless he comes out and says he called Sylvanas a bitch as a term of endearment, Garrosh is on my shit list. She is a bitch, but in the Head Bitch in Charge sort of way. Oh Blizzard, demonizing the belfs and the Forsaken to make the orcs look good.
Yeah, I don’t about this whole Call to Arms thing, seeing as I still haven’t found a decent social guild (I want one that cares enough to advertise but isn’t just for raids! I may have found one today though). I consider myself competent enough for random PUGs but since I don’t have a guild, that’s the only way I can play. Sometimes I’ll put up with the Heroic queue, but it’s so much faster to do regulars especially since I still have a few slots that could use JP gear.
Rewarding tanks/healers isn’t the part that bothers me so much as possibly getting screwed over because I don’t have trusted guildmates to run with. The peeps I get in LFD are the only ones I got.
I’m hoping that with all the marginal tanks queueing up for a chance at a pet/mount, the demand for healers will rise and we’ll get a chance for some of that phat lootz :D.
Next up, Wyrmrest Accord for the Red Drake. I tried Ulduar last night but was having some major difficulty on the trash. Whoa, I just looked on Wowhead and I can buy those rep tokens with JP. Way easier, I know what I’m doing tonight!
I’m guessing “zero.” The DPS is in there because they want to run the instance; if they boot a tank they know is capable, they have no clue what they’ll get next, and the replacement tank would also get the bonus at the end of the run, anyway.
1.) The people who don’t care about pets and mounts may care about money and flasks. The rewards may also be tweaked as the experiment progresses.
2.) People won’t be able to get away with queueing as a tank when they can’t actually fill the role. They have to *complete *the dungeon as a tank to get the bonus, and no one’s going to let them stick around, especially not since they’ll know the person is just trying to cheat their way to extra loot.
It may happen a bit in the beginning, but cheaters will quickly find that they can’t get away with it.
It should work exactly like the RDF gives credit for all other things, which means, completion is completion; it doesn’t matter where you started, only that you finished.
Woohoo! I do love the new drake models.
Not sure what rep tokens you’re talking about, but I wouldn’t waste your JP on them.
1.) Do all of the Wyrmrest quests you can.
2.) Start doing the dailies.
3.) Buy a Wyrmrest Accord tabard and wear it into dungeons. I’d assume it will work with anything that’s a level-80 regular dungeon or higher, which would include all Cata dungeons, but don’t hold me to that. You may have to start running the high-end Wrath dungeons on regular, or any of them on Heroic.
I don’t think it works in regular Cata dungeons; don’t know about Heroic. (Tried it on my warlock while I was leveling him up, since he was a few thousand short of Wyrmrest Exalted).
Sorry, I mean the badges you can buy. Anyway, it says it works on ‘level 80 dungeons’, which means only the Wrath ones, right? I tried Ulduar last night on regular and couldn’t make it through and was getting shit for rep points, like 7 per enemy. It would be 10x faster to spend my JP - I’m not exactly hurting for JP anyway.
But… Ulduar is a raid? You will get Wyrmrest rep by wearing the tabard in any level 80 5-man dungeon (um, Oculus, Vortex Pinnacle, the three ICC dungeons, and maybe Cleansing of Stratholme? I forget what they all are) or any Wrath heroic 5-man. You could always combine that with buying the rep badges, but I agree with SFG that I wouldn’t waste the JPs. Aren’t they only like 250 rep each?
Yeah, I’m saying I have no clue what those badges are, because they didn’t have them when I was leveling my rep.
Anyway, Ulduar is a raid, not an instance. AFAIK you can’t get dungeon rep via tabards out of them. You want to wear your tabard and go into one of the level 80 regulars (Culling of Strat, Oculus, Utgard Pinnacle, Trial of the Champion, the ICC 5-mans) or any Wrath dungeon on Heroic. The grind went very quickly at 80; it will be even faster at 85. And, again, check the Wyrmrest Accord faction page on Wowhead for the quests tab to make sure you’ve done all of those, and start doing the dailies. (There’s one at Wyrmrest Temple in Dragonblight, one at the Transitus Shield in Coldarra, and one up on one of the platforms hovering next to the outside of the Nexus, also in Coldarra.)
Someone should easily be able to resolve this by going to Wowhead, looking at the instances section, and sorting by level. Anything that comes up as 80 should work on regular, and anything from Wrath should work on Heroic.
Sorry, I did mean Halls of Lightning, my bad. And I was having troubles at 85. Especially in the room with the statues that come to life. And I was getting squat for rep points. I can’t do Wrath Heroics and even the regulars feel like a stretch. 1015 JP will get me from Friendly -> Exalted. I get a couple hundred JP from every Cata dungeon run, plus more gold. I’m not in a rush to get geared for anything. Between hating dailies and liking random dungeons, there’s no reason at all for me to spend a week doing dailies and Wrath dungeons.
Icecrown Citadel: Halls of Reflection 80
Icecrown Citadel: Pit of Saron 80
Icecrown Citadel: The Forge of Souls 80
Crusaders’ Coliseum: Trial of the Champion 78 - 80
Caverns of Time: The Culling of Stratholme 79
The Nexus: The Oculus 79
Ulduar: Halls of Lightning 79
Utgarde Keep: Utgarde Pinnacle 79
Ulduar: Halls of Stone 77 - 78
Gundrak 76 - 78
The Violet Hold 75 - 77
Drak’Tharon Keep 74 - 76
Azjol-Nerub: Ahn’kahet: The Old Kingdom 73 - 75
Azjol-Nerub: Azjol-Nerub 72 - 74
The Nexus: The Nexus 71 - 73
Utgarde Keep: Utgarde Keep 69 - 72
So only the ICC dungeons are listed as 80 minimum, and only ToC even lists 80 as the maximum.
ETA: But I think everything from Utgarde Pinnacle and above will give tabard rep.
