Portals are outside building…Ally portal is same side of building as Blacksmith and Flight Master.
Just to be sure, y’all ARE talking about the building near where all the shit’s going on with the elementals, right? And there’s a flight master behind it?
Sorry, don’t mean to be stupid, but on Hyjal there’s also a huge inn, and I wanted to make sure you weren’t talking about IT.
Thanks

This would have been a nice place to give the mages something useful, a portal and port to Sanctuary of Malorne or the Molten Front. Mage portals are pretty useless now since everyone has a short hearth and probably one or two more hearth abilities like the TB Tabard or the Shrouds you get from guild-rewards. Whenever I start a port I see everyone stop their hearth cast. It’s not like people are going to have to fly back.
Now you’ve got me confused. I’m talking about the building you see when you take the portal in SW to Hyjal. There is an innkeeper in that building, as well as a vendor–sells the Head slot enchant when you have enough rep, and some other stuff. I guess there are still elementals doing stuff there, too…I don’t notice them anymore…may have phased out of them, or maybe I just ignore them. Mostly I port in there, and hop a taxi to the Shrine of Malorne for dailies.
Oh, no wonder! I think I saw the Alliance portal, moused over it, and didn’t get a cogwheel, so I assumed it was just there for flavor. I didn’t even think to look around for an Ogrimmar portal. (Which is, by the way, where we Hordies go. :D)
Oh yeah, you’re soooooo gooooooood at mashing those two buttons. Swoon.
What’s that? I can’t hear you over the sound of the hundreds of gold Joe and I have dumped onto that alt for you.
Also, I can’t believe you don’t want to touch my Slimy Bone.
Right! It’s the place you portal into from Stormwind, under the huge tree, with all of the earth elementals fighting right out front.
Eh, I’d disagree. 15 minutes is 15 minutes. I’d still rather have the Mage portal, especially since my hearth is in Dalaran for the JC daily there.
Wait… what? Is there any reason to keep doing those dailies except for completeness (i.e., to get old recipes)? Or do they now reward the same currency as the dailies in Org?
I’m not a serious raider and don’t touch current content at all. It really didn’t have anything to do with raiding as much as a general lack of respect. It felt the same as someone promising you their Truegold cooldown and then giving it to someone else instead, or someone taking stuff out of the guild bank and selling it without permission. It would never occur to me that someone would just continue a raid without even talking to the members of it! I sent a polite note over in-game mail, haven’t been able to log in yet today for the response.
When it comes to old content, the guild seems to have a ‘don’t sweat it because we’ll do it again sometime’ view. Some people get upset over this, but the raids go into the calendar so I check it every day to get in on stuff. The guild favours its officers (as it should) but I can get in on things because I’m on the ball with signing up.
That’s much better.
I’m pretty sure I can pay you back whenever you decide to transfer to Mal’Ganis. And, I wasn’t sure where you had put that thing, so I wasn’t about to touch it.
Fair enough. I just know I would find it very frustrating if I had spent hours of progression on content (however new or old it may be), and then was sat the next raid day without explanation. So it goes.
Thanks SFG, and sorry, Oakie. You caught me on one of my “slow” days!

No, I’m just an obsessive completionist. If you don’t want the Wrath recipes, you don’t need to do the old dailies. However, keep in mind that the new Cata gems do have ilvl restrictions on them, so twinks and leveling characters all want the Wrath cuts.

This isn’t about the money. ENABLE MY COMPULSIONS, BITCH. :whipcrack:
In my bags, duh. Along with the eyeballs and the meat and the milk and the juice and the rocks and the skins and the weird sparkly powder and mysteriously glowing crystals and the fish parts. Can’t imagine why you *wouldn’t *want it.
Don’t I already?
Clearly, I should have licked it.
Well, yes, but I’d prefer it to happen without quite so much mockery.
See, was that so hard?
You and I both know that’s not going to happen.
I’ve been trying to think about a good double entendre to answer this, but I just can’t get a good one to come to mind. Something about slimy juice, maybe…
Woohoo. Looking forward to completing the Moonwell tonight and picking a new feral tank ring & trinket.
I don’t think either of the other unlockable vendors sell anything i want, but something tells me i will continue doing the dailies until i unlock them… sigh… Thankfully i only have one other max level toon at this point (a resto shammy) and none of the vendors have anything he really needs, so i have no compulsion to go through the grind with another toon.
Just for that, the next time we play, I’m going to spend three hours with you on follow while I just drink and make jokes about your mother being a prostitute.
If it gives you more to go on, I could try to dig up a [Bear Organ].
Nice! I’m admiring everyone else’s dedication on sticking with the dailies. This is the least grindy version Blizz has come up with yet, IME, and I *still *can’t get my ass online every day anymore.
I feel the exact same way. I managed to unlock Druids of the Talons and Shadow Wardens, but lately haven’t really the energy to go through with all those dailies. I might be more motivated if there were actually something useful for me. I guess vanity items has just lost their appeal.
I don’t even want to think about grinding them on my alts.
How is this different from what happens when we usually play?
Furry organs help me how… oh. Yeah, just going to stop there.
Normally I come off follow long enough to loot things.
Quick rant about vote kick protection.
I think this is the worst idea. If a person is continually getting kicked from random dungeon groups then 99 out of 100 times the problem is with them. Sure we’ve all run into bad situations with random people but for the most part people just wanna play.
I was tanking Wailing Caverns, a longer random dungeon, on my prot warrior alt and this hunter was terrible. He kept grabbing groups before I could get to them and his damage must have been low because the mage would pull them off of him pretty quickly so that I couldn’t just watch and hope they would kill the offending player. (I’m a firm believer in “you yank it; you tank it”.) Then he ninjad an intellect piece and logged out when we started complaining. He was gone but we couldn’t vote him out because he had kick protection. He had been kicked out of groups so many times recently that he was now immune.
I was pretty mad and dropped group rather than take the extra time to 4 man the dungeon. I really shouldn’t have done that. Lowbie dungeons are easy enough and the other 2 DPS prolly waited in the queue over half an hour for our fail dungeon run.
I think i’m OK with this at top level content, and you want to make a point so that some jack-wagon doesn’t cause wipes and such… but in Wailing Caverns? I think i’d just be happy that the dps was taking an active role in trying to help kill stuff. Anyway sorry to rain on your rant, i’m sure i’d have the same reaction if the circumstances were right.
