Thanks, and I’m not sure exactly what strat we will use, we just gave it one quick look with the standard LFR strat. Thanks for the “5th platform” tip, I will pass it along.
The way it works is this: you can roll on all the loot from each boss once per week.
So for example, you can run Siege and roll on any items from the four bosses, but regardless if you win or lose or pass everything if you do Siege again you’ll get the VP but no opportunity to roll on any drops.
As of 4.3, that’s how it works.
Thanks, Zeriel.
Guild is trying DS tonight. Not sure how it’s going to go. Our only Cata kill is on Halfus, but none of us had done it before attempting it. We’ve all done LFR for weeks.
sigh
I think I need to pick a couple of my 85s to “retire”. I have six of them (human and tauren pallies, draenei warrior, draenei mage, human rogue, and nelf hunter), and two more getting close (82 troll hunter and 82 nelf priest). By the time I get done doing dailies on all of them I don’t have time to do anything else!
The mage is more or less retired already…
Follow up question…
If I do LFR for either Siege of Wyrmrest or Fall of Deathwing for that week:
- Can I still get into DS10? DS25? Normal or Heroic?
- If I can, will I be able to loot any bosses at those levels?
- If I can’t do both, and my RetPally is at ilvl 384/390…should I just stop doing LFR and just start looking DS10/25s as a PUG? I currently have 3/5 of the LFR tier (384) of set gear.
- Yes, the lockouts between LFR and DS are completely different. You can do Normal and Heroic as you usually can if you do LFR.
- Yes.
- Up to you. If you don’t need gear anymore…well, it’s still an easy 500 VP

Don’t you DARE (ummm, sir, please and stuff?)!!!:)
If it wadn’t for you and jayjay, the Knights would be shit under the bridge underneath the bridge we’re supposed to be guarding with our flesh-wounds!
I don’t care if you two can only show up once or twice a MONTH, okay, you’re my BRO’S, and I love your asses! :)![]()
Q (Bill)
(I Mean it it, okay?!)
No worries, I don’t have any plans to retire Nouveus any time soon ![]()
I did the Farson Keep quest by myself just now, Rik. I almost got dead several times, but made it through with the help of my bandages and your beer basted crocolisk tails.
Also I thought I had that recipe in my list, but I guess not. Maybe I stuck it in the vault.
And… I can go into Tol Barad (not Peninsula) to go after crocs, but nothing else when the Horde has it, correct?
Thanks
Q
Just remember not to use that food for regular healing up. Just use it for the buffs it gives you, which last for 60 minutes. So eat it after you die (because dying cancels the buff), or after 60 minutes if you don’t see the cheese icon in the upper right.
I don’t remember for sure, but I don’t think your Cooking skill is quite high enough to learn that one yet.
Well, them and Problim, but I don’t think you want to try to solo him, and I doubt the Horde would help you out ![]()
Wolkie and I are going to have to stop being so greedy. He’s got 41k in g’s now, and all of the alts now have 1k each, so they’re now on their own and no longer getting 50 g’s weekly.
So I guess what we’ll do for now is just wait for the new XP and improve his gear little by little. Been catching fathom eels because 20 of them bring in a lot of money, but even that’s getting boring. Im at 417 with my cooking and it tops out at 450 Grand Master, and I still have some herbs to gather and archeology to do…
What do y’all think?
Thanks
Q
Don’t forget Illustrious Grand Master, to get you up to 525! You can train that when you hit 425.
MAH FIRST TIER TOKEN I’M SO PROUD OF MYSELF
I actually rolled 2nd for it (a chest token), but the guy already had it, and he took pity on me after he also won the leg token.
(shhhh, it still counts if its LFR!)
Our guild run of DS tanked horribly last week, we couldn’t get Morchok down to less than 33%. But we took people who had never done LFR before which I think was the main issue.
I also managed to solo heroic Skadi for the first time. I wish hunter pets could aggro every bears, instead of single target. Skadi isn’t hard, the trash around him is.
So if it says “Alliance is attacking”, I can go into Tol B and not get killed?
Also, there’s a sword called Masterwork Elementium Deathlade for 6225 buyout.
I now have Glade of the fearless and if bought thr Elementium, the only 2 things affecting us would be -202 Crit Strike and -202 Epertise. Everything else is +green,
What do y’all think.
Also I fished up the tome of polymorph turtle this afternoon. Big bucks, right?
Cooked up some glacial salmon , just for practice…
My son adjusted my surround sound for me today. Apparentlly the front speakers were up to high, and the woof turned back wards. Also not getting sound out of right front. Helps to have a kid who competed in those booming car sound systems.
Thanks

The X is attacking message means the area is contested (active PvP), and team X is on the offense. I think you’re ported out of there unless you queue to fight through the PvP finder.
If the battle isn’t going on, it will say which side holds Tol Barad, and for how much longer. If Alliance holds the area, you’ll be able to do daily quests based out of the central fortress. If Horde holds the area, you can still slaughter crocs, etc., you just won’t have the quests available.
That’ll be a solid upgrade for you. When you’re looking for something new to bonk critters with, make sure it has +STR, and then compare the listed DPS, that’s the most important stat. I don’t know how good the price is - it sounds about right, but my price checking website is down in protest of SOPA/PIPA.
Glad to see you back in the thread, I enjoy reading your perspective on the game, and hope everything’s well with your family.
Thanks for the kind words and the advice, hdc_bst! Guess I’ll go buy the sword and then work on some of my professions (especially herbalism - way behind on that one).
Thanks
Q
Herbalism: I’m banking all my herb drops. Some of them (Azshara’s Veil) are pretty valuable in AH, but I figure if I bank them, then I’ll have them when it comes time to gather.
Same w/ crocolisk tail (gotta be 525 to cook those)
Also, that “Boom Quest” with the cannons sinking the ships in TB Peninsula: Is it better to enter from the river side or come straight into the Wellson Shipworks down the hill? I fish on the back of the factory, and there’s a chick that stands on the dock. I sure wish I could jump high enough to kill her, because then it would be a short trip to the cannon dock!
One gets double teamed anyway close to that dock, so I guess maybe there’s no advantage?
Thanks
Q
You don’t need to save your herbs. Herbalism is a gathering profession. Unlike cooking, where you get skill points from producing something ourt of raw materials, in gathering professions you get skill points for finding the raw materials themselves.
There are professions, alchemy and inscription, which use the herbs gathered by a herbalist to produce something else. But since you already have a second primary profession, skinning, another gathering profession, you can’t learn those.
Therefore the best way to use your herbs is to sell them at the auction house.
Okay, that’s what I’ll do then!
Thanks:)
