New York to issue letters of marque / Cuomo might have gone insane

In a thread in which you are drawing a line between peaceful protest and risk to people’s lives, it seems exactly on topic, given how many times you have said that people may be injured or die as a result of this effort.

But I shall not press it anymore, because, well, obvious reasons.

How do you think oil and fuel are delivered to NY and other parts of the country? t’s delivered by truck, rail, pipeline and ships. If NY doesn’t want oil rigs off shore because it poses a threat then they should shut down all their pipelines and transport modes for the same reason. It would be in line with Cuomo’s mindset to save it’s citizens from environmental harm.

neither is arresting those responsible and confiscating their vessels.

All of this is just a political rant on Cuomo’s part. NY has a very small coast line and the bravado only extends out 3 miles. We can easily go out 50 miles and still be on the continental shelf with only 200 feet to the ocean floor. This is vastly different than the mile deep drilling in the Gulf.

If you check your watch it’s election time.

Boy, talk about your bait-and-switch thread title.

LETTERS OF MARQUE!! That would have been something genuinely off the wall.

Instead, probably feeling a little heat from Ms. Nixon, he’s encouraging a Greenpeace-style protest.

A little lefty for Cuomo, of course, but like I said, he’s feeling the heat. But no letters of marque, no Cuomo insanity.

Please, test it out and get back to me.

People protest peacefully on land all the time. There is no reason to believe it can’t be done on water.

And it has been. http://m.hawaiinewsnow.com/hawaiinewsnow/pm_/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=od:SU6rHnXE

Don’t feel cheated, OP did include at no charge an unrelated antifa “joke”.

Oh, I don’t feel cheated. I always enjoy an OP that says more about the author than it does about the purported subject of the thread.

Are you suggesting that was peaceful protest? That interrupted commerce and people were arrested for it.

I’m not sure if you are joking or not, but people get arrested for peaceful protests all the time. Which is fine if they are violating the law, even the absence of violence.

Seriously, are you kidding? You know what a violent protest is, right?

One that interrupts commerce and can’t have that can we?

No, we can’t. That’s not peaceful protesting, that’s criminal activity.

violence: the use of physical force so as to injure, abuse, damage, or destroy.
I consider acting against another person’s freedom an act of violence.

Arrest Trump, then. He called for a boycott of Macy’s. That’s inciting criminal activity.

It sounds like someone understood how dangerous stunts like this can be:

I’m not the one that thinks “If it slows down the process until Trump and his tard army are relics of history, it’s absolutely the right strategy.” Personally, I think that’s a stupid way of evaluating the wisdom of actions, but if that’s all you’re after, I suppose you might say or do just about anything to try to accomplish it.

So you consider the civil rights marches, as a whole, to be violent protests? Jesus.

Absolutely. By any means necessary. This criminal regime needs to be stopped in it’s tracks.

Parades interrupt commerce. I’ve never enjoyed them, but I imagine they must throw you into a rage what with all the commerce being interrupted and stuff.

“By any means necessary”? No wonder people were upset by my Antifa joke: http://www.bamn.com/

I didn’t realize some of you were taking it personally.

The Boston Tea Party. That also interrupted commerce somewhat. Yet that’s a major event in American history (and a footnote in British history).
