The newest update to the Droid is coming on July 13 (maybe), it’s coming about the same time that the newest Moto Droid phone is coming out. The newest Droid has Flash 10.1 on it. Does that mean the general Droid update will have Flash too? I have a gen 1 Droid and I really really want Flash.
Android 2.2 is supposed to be coming out for the Droid in July. 2.2 has flash, so you should be good to go.
It’s also a lot faster. I was running the leaked version on my Nexus One in May and it was pretty slick. Flash was a bit slow, but I didn’t really use it more than once or twice.
Well, I only used it once or twice and I hate flash and generally have no use for it. It could have been the site I visited or my impatience with flash, plus I’m, sure there have been improvements from the leaked 2.2 and the released 2.2.
The main reason I want Flash is because I could then, in theory, run episodes of TV shows that the parent company has on their websites. I.E. Family Guy from Fox.com
Flash runs fine on my Nexus One. Flash won’t come directly with the update, you’ll have to install it from the market. Just make sure you change the browser setting to Enable Plug-Ins on demand, so pages won’t be slowed down by Flash ads and such.
