Geeks for Obama!
Just got back from voting in North Carolina. Not only is the Arcade Fire a huge deal and everyone seems to be talking about it, the Obama headquarters was buzzing. Hillary’s was sad and desolate, the chalk letters “HILLARY '08” faded from the brick exterior wall, the lights dimmed. There was even a chipper table set up outside the courthouse with an Obama volunteer telling everyone to vote - no one else had a table.
I smell a slaughter.
I love the smell of slaughter in the morning.
[/Apocalypse Now]
Yeah, but Clinton will claim that North Carolina doesn’t matter. Even though we have more delegates than Indiana.
You see, Clinton can’t win the nomination with this type of thinking, and she’s been continually thinking this way for several months, the only person to blame for her loss will be HRC herself! As cliche as it sounds, Obama has been in it to win it - not that Hillary doesn’t want to win it, but she certainly did not prepare for what will one day be talked about her crumpled candidacy. September will roll around and this will all be a memory anyway.
Yeah, but even Jesse Jackson could win in North Carolina.
Boy, Pat Buchanan is spinning furiously to keep Hillary in this race. He just pronounced that even if Obama blows out Hillary in NC, as long as Hillary wins Indiana, even by a single vote, “she keeps her momentum.”
Good - so when Obama beats Clinton we can watch Buchanan sqirm. There’s only one way to skin a cat, and Clinton’ was skinned months ago when she discounted the potomac primaries and just about every win Obama blew her away in.
Well, he’s right. She keeps losing delegates.
Since when does he like her?!
I don’t know since when but he was the only strident Hillary supporter on MSNBC. There other Hill supporters but none as enthusiatic.
In the other thread I noted the marked difference in the primary coverage. MSNBC started with breathless anticipation of an upset and then settled down to “Oh well, she’s back where she started-- far behind.” CNN started with breathless anticipation of a big win and then ramped it up with “She won! She won! Yay!”
Did anyone else get this impression?
I have been terribly dissappointed with a lot of MSM and CNN, MSNBC, ABC all have been spinning this entire campaign. I’m truthfully sad, because the blatent BS from Charlie Gibson and Grorge Stephanopolos - and I like Charlie Gibson!
I’ll admit that I enjoyed MSNBC much more than CNN, I am an Obama supporter after all. But what I really needed was an impartial reporting of the facts.
New polls out of Indiana:
Research 2000 has Obama 48, Clinton 47 in a poll taken Wednesday and Thursday.
Selzer & Co. Has Obama 41, Clinton 38 in a poll taken Sunday through Wednesday.
Research 2000 is generally regarded as one of the best in the business. (I concur with that.) Selzer is rated elsewhere as one of the best regional pollsters, but I can’t say I know anything about them.
Indiana’s anybody’s ballgame.
I’m not counting on Obama winning Indiana. I figure a lot of the undecideds will break for Hillary.
A North Carolina blowout would be nice, though.
Survey USA now has Hillary up by 9 in IN, Obama up by 9 in NC. I’m getting that awful feeling again… suppose she sweeps? It could be game-set-match.
Whoa, now, don’t panic! SUSA’s most recent poll has to be put in context of their previous results. As noted at Daily Kos today:
There, now don’t you feel just a wee bit better?
I do not trust SUSA’s. . . something. As mentioned in this thread they’ve got some serious outliers. 4/11-4/13 had Hill up by 16, while Obama was up in all other polls by 3 to 5%.
All the other polls show Obama increasing his lead in Indiana. This means as much as you let it. Obama seems to poll better than he does at the polls.
I’m beginning to think this whole primary battle is a conspiracy of the Xanax Manufacturer’s Association. I shall not rest easy until the convention vote is tallied and the confetti drops from the ceiling.
The sky is falling! Insider Advantage now has Hillary up by 2% in NC, PPP has her up by 8% in IN. I think she’s going to win both of them and take the nomination.
