The most annoying part is that this is the perfect time for Justin Tuck to be stepping up, but he’s gimpy as well.
Going into the season the Giants had two probowlers, a potential stud and a first round draft selection; ten weeks later it’s down to one man and of course it’s the least experienced of the four.
I’ve been wanting to see Tuck, who is supposed to be Strahan’s eventual replacement, get playing time for a while.
As for excuses, how’d that Miami game go again? Fido handing out turnovers like candy?
Aw, aren’t you just the cutest thing. Yep, if only the Saints coulda had a neutral site, they woulda put on their big boy pants and actually had a chance.
Let’s not forget the kudos for the Giants fans, who gave a sincere welcome to the Saints - classy as usual, just like the franchise and players (with a few notable recent exceptions - cough Shockey cough).
That’s why I’ll be rooting for the Jints after the Redskins get mathematically eliminated, which oughta be sooner than later.
No excuses. It’s a game that can go either way, and given Chicago’s record, I’m worried that we’re not fielding our best team defensively. Even if we were, the game is a coin flip. Still is, but I think the Giants diminished ability to pressure Grossman gives Chicago a bit more of an edge.
Dallas will try and run up and down the field on Indy. I hope somehow we can get Henry some support, otherwise Payton will rip him a new one. If nothing else maybe this’ll wake Vanderjagt the heck up.
I watched the Texans beat Jacksonville yesterday. True, they’re a better team than given credit for but they’ve always had Jacksonville’s number and that Giants team last night that gave the Bears all they wanted should whip the Jaguars by 10 to 14.
I hope you’re right but, sadly, I see it differently.
“There has to be a way to make the Giants stop this ridiculous jumpshot nonsense after every defensive play. Just our luck that the ONE celebration the No Fun League doesn’t have a problem with is the most annoying one ever.”
Both Tony and Wilbon agreed with the emailer, as do I.
If anyone was wondering I landed the greatest seats in the history of mankind for the game. 13th row, literally straddling the 50 yardline. Bill Murray was a couple rows ahead of us. I’m betting you saw my drunk ass on TV going nuts. What a game, what a game.
The giants.com boards are finally back up. The new board software suck balls, but I still doggedly wade through there for some gems. The latest one? In a discussion of Tony Romo, somebody wrote:
“While I am not romosexual like so many of my idiot dallas friends. I recognize that with the tuna at the helm, that team can possibly do great things.”
hehheh…“romosexual.” That’s funny.
Philly gets a taste of the injury bug with McNabb going down for the season. Wonder if Reid will finally start running the ball? It is painfully obvious that Westbrook is up to the challenge, though granted he is a bit fragile. (He has yet to play a full season.)
Redskins fans can start looking toward next year’s draft. They’ll probably get a high pick, unless of course Snyder traded it away. Did he? And if so, who’d he get for it? Tell me it wasn’t TJ Duckett.
I’m nervous about not only the Jaguars game, but the rest of the season and playoffs. I see nothing but doom and gloom in the Giants future; I need a strong showing in Florida to get my mind right.
Re: The Eagles – I had them picked to win yesterday. I had them as my 16-point team in a confidence pool, and my pick in a suicide pool. Got royally screwed over by their loss. No matter, though – seeing the Scumbirds go down to the lowly Titans was still the highlight of my Sunday.
I’m upset about McNabb going down, for two reasons – one, because I don’t like seeing any player deprived of his livelihood. Yes, he’s the “enemy”, but as long as you’re a decent human being, I’ll never root for injury. And two, now we get another season of “Ohhhh, we’d have gone all the way if not for the injuries” from all the fricking Eagle-lovers in my area.
Funny how, as Giants players have been dropping like flies lately, I’ve been hearing nothing but “Hey, injuries are part of the game…you gotta learn to deal with that” from the Eagle-dinks around here.
Re: The Cowboys – Very good win, yesterday. There’s something heartwarming about being the only person in a pool to make a particular pick, and being correct about it. I felt pretty dirty, but I was cheering for the 'Boys yesterday. We’ll file that under “first and last time this season” for that. They can now go back to getting smacked around.
Re: The Redskins – <snerk>…
Re: The Giants – Mounting injuries notwithstanding, they’re more than capable of taking out the Jags. Giants win, 21-17.
Exciting one – especially the last quarter and a half when the Cowboys really kicked up the offense and finally started dominating. That long drive that started halfway through the third quarter was really what did it – gave the defense a chance to rest for a good while. You could tell they had more energy when Indy got their next possession.
Things couldn’t have gone better for Dallas this week. Giants and Philly both dropping. If the season ended today, Cowboys would be in the playoffs. Granted, as a Wild Card, due to head-to-head loss to the Giants. But hopefully they will remedy that when they meet again in a couple of weeks.
I was glad to see Terry Glenn getting a bunch of throws his way in those last several series. And I think one of my favorite plays of this game was the pass to Fasano. After several of those plays where Romo took a 1-step drop and threw quickly to Glenn, he takes the 1-step drop again and pump fakes the short throw to Glenn – moment I saw that pump fake I knew it was going to work – the defense took the bait and he tosses it outside to Fasano. Nicely done.
