Looks like the extra 2 days didn’t amount to bupkis for the Browns’ roster. I don’t believe they got anyone back who wouldn’t have been available on Saturday. It did, however, give the 3rd string QB a little extra time to finish writing his will, seeing as how they’ll also have 2nd and 3rd string offensive tackles starting.
This sure does suck for the Browns in a competitive AFC Wildcard race. Not only do they have to play today extremely shorthanded, but they have to play an extremely short week (Saturday) against Green Bay.
Oh good, another huge, absurd pass interference call against the Browns.
It’s ridiculous how often the NFL calls DPI against balls that are massively underthrown and slow to arrive and the receiver has to run back through the defender to get to the ball. The defender gets a DPI call for basically existing in space.
Extremely apt description. That was a pathetic call against the Browns defender.
If the Browns win this game, they’re the 4 seed. If they lose, they’re the 12th seed.
What happened? They got a TD, then they didn’t anymore, then they got one. (I can only see scores on my phone).
I opined last year that the teams that do a poor job at taking precautions and containing Covid would be at a big disadvantage to those teams that do it well. Having 19 players including your top 2 QBs, ndicates to me that the Browns aren’t doing very well on the Covid front.
I think now that vaccinations are standard the protocols should be different. It’s not uncommon for someone to test positive with COVID even if they have a minimal presence in their body and not any symptoms and likely aren’t going to spread it. These “technical” cases for COVID are being used by idiots to say “see, vaccines don’t matter, vaccinated people get COVID anyway!” I think they should more or less just mandate vaccinations and forget about it until people are clearly symptomatic.
I don’t know, you may be right, but I’d want to see some evidence that the Browns are unusually lax in their COVID procedures.
Edit: I was very “if they manage to get a covid outbreak, make them play that way or forfeit the game” last year when teams should’ve had that shit on lockdown. But since then, I’ve basically been of the “let’s vaccinate, wear masks, and otherwise get back to normal life” train for the most part.
Pass in the end zone was first ruled complete, then overruled because the receiver’s heel was out of bounds. Then Chubb scored on the next play.
Nick Mullens hasn’t been great but he really hasn’t been that bad. The Browns receivers are bad at receiving.
Ah, the old “get pushed down so the defense forgets about you, then get up and you’re open” play.
Even though it was kind of a boring, lifeless game, this is actually a really good, gritty win by a Browns team that has literally 22 players out.
Chickens. Counting.
That’ll leave a mark.
Yeah, fair enough, life sucks.
Last second wins are exciting.
So… if it was a good idea to call one timeout to ‘ice the kicker’, why not call another one? Or two more?
It is against the rules. You can’t call back-to-back timeouts without any play in between. For example:
It’s a five yard penalty, so all you’re doing is helping the kicking team by moving them 5 yards closer.
Thanks. I didn’t know that.
Only 3 out of 16 AFC teams having a losing record is quite an unlikely feat.
