NFL 2022: Conference Championship Week

I haven’t seen anything like that in quite some time. There may be a bit of a tussle here and there, but bench clearing usually happens in baseball and hockey.

That was insane.

It seemed like the Niners’ defense (which was one of the league’s best defenses all season) got chippier and chippier as they were unable to stop the Eagles, and as the game started to slip away; and, then, it culminated in the fight.

It probably didn’t make any difference in the final outcome, but the roughing-the-kicker call in the 3rd quarter on the Niners essentially ended the game. It was still 21-7 at that point, but the penalty kept the drive alive and it ended in a touchdown.

I agree, that was when sf lost it, the team fell apart, and started tussling.

Philly is going a bit crazy now. Crowds all over the city.

Burrow sacked 3 times. So far.

Chiefs dominated early, but only got 1 TD. Now Bengals have tied it up and have all the momentum.

John Madden would be better than these bozos-present tense. He spoiled us.

After the Bills got knocked out I was hoping for a Niners v Cincy Superbowl. No reason - I used to live in SF, so I have a bit of an affinity for them. I’ve just never liked KC - Mahomes in particular. I like Burrow’s brand of cockiness better, I suppose. Eagles? Never cared about them one way or another.

Things aren’t looking good for the Superbowl to hold my attention.

Edit - post fumble: perhaps I spoke too soon.

Rare unforced error by Mahomes. Big series for KC defense

Fun game. Huge play by Chase.

Jesus, penalties.

Someone will have to explain to me why a play from scrimmage prior to that last penalty just wasn’t counted.

They just showed the back judge blowing the play dead, but nobody saw him.

If it hits you in the head, you should have caught the ball.

And another penalty, and a very weak one.

That’s interesting; Cincinnati apparently accepted the penalty. But now, apparently, they have declined it.

I didn’t know you could do that.

Jeezums. How fun!

And another penalty.

Aw Fuck. Stupid, stupid penalty on Ossai could mean the game. Hate to see it.

It does appear that’ll cost Cincinnati their season. What an inexcusable act of stupidity.

This was not a banner weekend for NFL officiating. I saw way more accusations of “rigged” than usual on reddit.
