God I hate bitching about officiating. I also hate bitching about close calls. But I really hate bitching about close calls (the ball moved as it hit the ground, and he didnt have control) and pretending it was “clearly” wrong.
But bitching about officiating is as big of a piece of football as the ball itself.
Oh gee, oh gosh, would it be better if I bitched about the halftime show? I.e., why is Rhiannon performing in her pajamas?
Then you can bitch about sideline reporters, women who should smile more, and for the kids to get offa your lawn. I hear there are some clouds in the sky you can shake your fists at in impotent rage.

I didn’t really like it, but I didn’t hate it. Which is probably what the NFL was looking for for most of its audience.
Hurts looked a little jittery to me in the first quarter. I found myself thinking “Why aren’t they throwing it down the field? I feel like I’m watching Daniel Jones…” The next time they touched the ball was the one play touchdown drive. There’s the Eagles I know and hate.
Chiefs still in it thanks to that defensive touchdown. I see it going downhill from here for them, though.

I like Rihanna and her music, but did not much like the halftime show. While I am all for female empowerment and general acceptance of anyone, I don’t fully agree with the trend of expunging every element of sensuality from sports. It is not actually wrong to show the cheerleaders from time to time. I could not say why you would dress all the dancers up as Michelin Men. But the music was good enough, I guess.
Now waiting to see if they will call incomplete rather than a fumble…
If the halftime show ruins the field, then do away with the halftime show.
This is bullshit.
The field was … not ideal … from the begining. They show clips of how much difficulties the players have had keeping their footing.
What did it do? I only have it on muted on my side table. Is this why that guy slipped after his touchdown(the one that was retracted)?
Players have been losing their footing and slipping around since the game began. The only thing ruined by halftime was the illusion of live music.
Did you see all the ground crew folks packing down the divots created by the stages. As @Hamlet said, the field sucked from the beginning, but it’s a helluva lot worse after halftime.
This is actually a very good game so far. It’s just a lot of work to parse the actual game out from all the attendant bullshit.
