NFL 2022: Week Fourteen Carat Diamonds

There are always bad calls - I’m sure if I went on Bronco twitter I’d find complaints on how the refs screwed them (although most of them know their offense is a dumpster fire).

I saw somewhere a quote about there are young Denver fans in the second grade who have never seen a victory over KC.

Kyler Murray was just carted off the field, with an apparent knee injury suffered without contact.

I’m not going to say that @ShadowFacts jinxed him, but I will strongly imply it.

Ugh, those non-contact injuries have a way of being the worst.

Ugh, sorry to hear that (I’m not watching the game right now). I hope he’s OK, even if I dislike the way he runs.

What happened to Teddy Bridgewater (and almost cost him his leg or even life) was a non-contact injury during a practice.

They can be really, really bad, which is so unintuitive.

The one I always remember is Vinny Testaverde rupturing his achilles with the Jets. That could have been their year, too. Parcells as head coach, Belichick as DC, talented roster.

Googling to make sure I didn’t dream that, apparently it was after handing the ball off. Oh man, just brutal.

Well, I was wrong about that, but could not have predicted Murray’s early exit. Pats certainly did not look good, but a win is a win and they cling to scant playoff hopes. They also lost their best offensive player, Rhamondre Stevenson; I hope it’s not serious.

If the season ended today the Patriots would be in the playoffs. The other two 7-6 teams, Jets and Chargers, don’t exactly inspire confidence either.

I’m sure they wish the season did end today, because then they would not have to face the Bengals, Dolphins and Bills in their final 3 games.

Conversely the Chargers remaining schedule is pretty sumptuous.

The Chargers looked pretty good Sunday night against the Fins. Or maybe it was because Miami looked terrible. As you mentioned, Chargers remaining schedule has Titans, Colts, Rams, and Broncos. All of which are winnable games.

Reports are coming out this afternoon that he suffered a torn ACL, and is out for the year.
