I heard that news driving home.
Benched to the 3rd string QB for the Jets. Ouch.

I’ve always wondered, when a new free-agent QB joins a team and starts playing for them in mere weeks, how do they memorize the whole playbook so fast? Is every playbook on every team basically 90% the same plays and just the cadence, calls, secret terms, words, codenames, different?
I almost feel for the Jets, but this is the price you pay for getting Rodgers. There’s no way that prima donna would abide a competent backup providing even a remote threat to his status.
And naturally there are rumors that he’s the reason the Jets did not sign a decent free agent following his injury who might pose a risk to him by performing like even a mediocre NFL QB
Pinning Zach Wilson’s incompetence and the Jets’ inability to find a competent backup on Aaron Rodgers is patently ridiculous.
I cannot stand Aaron Rodgers. But I also don’t get the criticism.
I mean, yeah, if I pull out a brand new sandwich bag from a box and there’s a hole in the bottom, a small part of me would thrill in blaming Aaron Rodgers, but I know it’s not true.
How many teams in the NFL have a backup that would make a good starter? Is that number even larger than zero? It’s hard to believe that it is, when you sometimes have starters that would barely make good backups.
There are several backups that used to be starters. Not necessarily good, but at least have starting experience.
Teddy Bridgewater, Blaine Gabbert, Andy Dalton, Cooper Rush, Marcus Mariota.
Why, yes, I agree it is.
I still revel in it, though. One of the perks of being a sports fan is having your totally irrational biases ![]()
E A G L E S EAGLES!!!
Except our two wins over Washington, I can’t believe we won the other seven. Honestly. I’m a Bleeding Green fan, but WTF?? We can’t play the “oh, we’ll catch up” style of game in the playoffs.
Blood pressure lowering… lowering…
So not good starters.
Eh, they’ll be just fine. Not only do they pretty much have the No. 1 seed locked up now, but much of the roster has Super Bowl experience anyway.
Agreed, my heart finally got a rest during the bye week only to be challenged yet again by a squeaker of a victory.
Next week starts tomorrow morning. New thread here:
