NFL 2023: Week 15

Intriguing idea. Say an owner of Team A is willing to buy draft picks for cash. Could Team A do it by trading their head coach and $30 million to Team B for draft picks, who then fires their new head coach immediately?

I cant find the NFL rules online, but I’d be willing to bet NFL teams are forbidden from trading cash. There were examples of such a rule being circumvented (Brock Osweiler, for example, was only traded after the team trading him away agreed to pay most of his contract), but I’m guessing the Commissioner would get involved in such shenanigens if it were coaches.

I’ll poke around and see if I can find more.

OMG, this is worse than the Butt Fumble game.

Tell me about Butt Fumble!

Read all about it.

Butt Fumble - Wikipedia

Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez collided with the buttocks of his teammate, offensive lineman Brandon Moore, causing a fumble, which was then recovered by the Patriots’ safety Steve Gregory and returned for a touchdown. The play was the centerpiece of a disastrous sequence in the second quarter, wherein the Jets lost three fumbles and the Patriots scored three touchdowns in the span of 52 seconds of game time. In that second quarter, the Jets held the ball for over 12 minutes (out of a possible 15), but managed to be outscored 35–3.

. The butt fumble is often considered one of the most inept plays in NFL history and is also ranked as the most embarrassing moment in Jets history

The Chargers just ran off the field for the half, presumably straight out onto the shuttles to the airport to go to their hometowns for new careers. Sheesh, that SIXTH unanswered TD with 31 seconds left though.

Looks like the Raiders took that goose egg last week to heart.

Man! Another Raiders TD. And oddly fascinating to watch.

Announcer on TV: “Another ten points, and the Raiders will have the NFL’s record for most points scored in a single game.”

Someone needs to scare again. It’s not a scorigami right now

LOL butt fumble. Watched it literally hundreds of times and somehow it never stops being funny.

We have Scorigami!

I thought we had a pretty good chance. Little did I think it would the the chargers who scored to get it though.

The Chargers subreddit just changed their focus to be discussions of phone chargers and phone charger accessories.

I just watched the condensed version of he game on NFL+. It was weirdly entertaining.

The real question is who gets the job as Chargers interim coach tomorrow?

And Staley is toast, along with GM Tom Telesco. Interim coach not yet named. I’m guessing it will be either OC Kellen Moore or DC Derrick Ansley. I got $5 on Moore.

I know the HC has no control over the various injuries suffered to the star players, but Staley should have been canned last year, after the Chargers blew a 27-0 lead in the playoff game against Jacksonville. They were outscored 31-3 in the last 31 minutes of that game.

That’s just what you get with Spanos as an owner.

It’s about the bottom line but they’re not that great at that, either. They moved to LA but they’re an also-ran in their own stadium. They could have had Sean Payton but he costs more than they like and now he’s doing a credible if not an outright good job in Denver competing against them in the same conference!

There’s those rumors about Belichick but I can’t see them wanting to pay for him, either.

I was mad when the Dolphins didn’t run up the score more on Denver to get 74, and I’m mad the Raiders didn’t go for 74 either.

Anyhow, it looks right now that the Bengals are going to fall further down out of the 7-6 logjam in the AFC wild card race.

Hmph! O ye of little faith.

5 of the 6 teams playing today were 7-6 coming in?

Browning will get credit for that tying TD catch but it was all Higgins. Hell of a game.
