Even if it’s a national game, some of the commercial spots are reserved for local ones, right? They wouldn’t put a state political ad in a national slot, I wouldn’t think
Last night watching MLB ATL vs Dodgers a campaign ad came on for my local city councilman. My city is a burb of Greater Miami w a mere ~75K inhabitants.
Talk about drawing a targeting penalty ![]()
I just saw another Paxton ad. Maybe a few Texans are undecided and visiting Chicago, but I think my man is overspending with the advertising budget.
Mike Vrabel just got flagged for Unsportsmanlike Conduct for whining, as he is wont to do, about officiating. Couldnt happen to a bigger asshat.
Seeing it in the Rams/Eagles game, watching from the Seattle area. It’s confusing.
Must just be a national spot on Fox and it plays for all games and markets.
Eagles are up 20-10 over the Rams going into the half despite the fact that they are 0-11 for the last 11 3rd down attempts. (I assume that goes back to last game.)
Helped by a really bizarre pass interference call. The defender’s glove Velcro apparently stuck on the receiver’s jersey so it looked like he was holding it when he wasn’t.
I’m not saying the call was incorrect, it was just a very unlucky thing for the defense.
4 minutes left and the Eagles still haven’t converted a third down yet.
But they’re up 20-17 and trying to close this out.
Frankly both teams look bad. If the Rams lose they’ll be 1-3 and they look like a team that should be 1-3.
And the Eagles are 3rd and 4, and have an incompletiom. That’s the 11th failed attempt today. I don’t know how many in a row that is going back to last game.
Eagles can’t convert a 3rd down all game on 12 attempts and lose by 4.
ETA:
Seahawks vs Chargers.
Chargers get the ball first. First play of the game is an interception.
Seahawks take over. Their first play is an interception.
It’s like Herbert and Darnold are getting into a competition with each other.
Probably this; that race has gotten a lot of national attention, and I believe that both candidates have been seeking campaign donations on a national level.
Patriots come up big against Buffalo. Maybe a turn around? Defense was solid.
Would any of you like to buy an NFL team?? Would you? Of course you would.
The EAGLES are for sale. They cost $100 cash, a six pack of Genee Cream, and a can of soup.

Maybe. Maye was sharp. But as great as Allen and that offense is, Buffalo’s defense is lousy. That win could be an indicator of that.
Also, games where division rivals play against each other, things can be weird. What seems certain on paper doesn’t play out on the field.
The Giants somehow survived a typical Jameis Winston performance. It’s almost fascinating to watch. Bad throw. Bad decision. Interception. Touchdown. Rinse and repeat.
