I could not feel more differently about the coaching staff on this team and the rest of the front office. No idea how we did so well on one and so awful on the other.
They’ll let Mingo have “Bark” on the back of his jersey, right?
wmu must mean Western Michigan eh?

Controversial Pick As Cleveland Browns Select Dzhokhar Tsarnaev From UMass Dartmouth
I’d rather have Tsarnaev, at least he caused some chaos. Something Mingo isn’t gonna do.
Jonathan Cooper to the Cardinals
yes it’s true I did go to high school with him
who wants to touch me
It’s gonna be okay.
4 o-lineman, 3 pass rushers in the first 7 picks.
I knew everyone thought it was a weak year for skill positions, but this weak? Wow.
Violently
The Browns put themselves in position to desperately need CB - they only have one starting quality CB on the roster. I thought it was bad management of the offseason, forcing us into the draft with desperate need.
But then they got to the point where they could’ve fulfilled that need and they take a one note pass rusher who isn’t actually any good at pass rushing. What the fuck. They’re going into the season with Buster Skrine as the #2 CB and they don’t pick again until round 3.
And all that for Mingo of all people? Mingo was the prospect you couldn’t pass up? You have 2 competent starts at OLB, you don’t have it at CB. Sure, if someone is an unusually great talent you can draft more OLBs anyway. But Mingo?
Nice pick for the Rams!
You should keep in mind that Mingo had more responsibilities on defense other than pinning his ears back and rushing the passer. His reduced sack numbers were more about double teams and his coaches than his own deficiencies.
Few quick notes.
- Fuck my job for making me late to the draft.
- Fuck my 1:15 minute, bumper-to-bumper commute at 8PM at night.
- Fuck the guy who forgot to put my fries in my carry out bag to go with my wings.
- Thank god for NFL Network not spoiling picks.
- Thank god for my 4G hotspot and laptop streaming the draft in the passenger seat of my car.
Ok, now I can talk about the picks so far.
Love all these OLs that have been drafted, I think every one is an excellent pick. Not sold on Dion Jordan or Ezikiel Ansah at all. Tavon Austin is a enigma for me, he’s so exciting but I don’t think he has the route running ability to be consistent and his size makes me think he’ll miss more games than he plays.
Lots of trades, 2 of the guys I was tempted by for the Bears are gone in Cooper and Austin.
Don’t understand the Millner pick. The Jets still have Cromartie and Kyle Wilson, who was their first rounder last year. Plus, there are lots of other first round corners. Eifert had to be the pick. I’m quietly dreaming that the Bucs will trade back into the first round and get him.
Whoah. Chance Warmack is giant Wayne Brady!
Fluker? Wow.
Floyd to the Raiders after all. Nice move!
Maybe Star Lotulelei at 13 for the Niners? I’m hoping.
Yep!
As a Panther fan I’m salivating over Star… come on…
Milliner is gonna suuuuuuuuuck and so is Warmack.
Pretty surprised that Floyd and Lotulelei are still available.
Never got the chance to post my Love/Hate for the Bears because of work, but I’ll just spout a little stream of consciousness here based on who’s been taken already.
My first choice is a trade down, there really isn’t anyone that really fires me up.
Saw a bunch of late projections with the Bears taking Corderrelle Patterson at 20. I like the idea of that type of player, but Patterson has all those red flags that speedy unproven WRs tend to have.
Hoping we don’t reach for a OL like Pugh, Watson, Schwenke, Warford or Long. I dig Push and Long, but not before late in the second round.
All those LBs are still out there and I’m not exactly fired up about drafting one mostly because I think there’s about 5 LBs available who are essentially the same value. Gimme Minter or Brown in round 2.
I wonder if the Bears will take a DJ Hayden or one of the DTs that are left, I think that’s where I’m leaning at this instant.
Oooooooh! Nice pick, Raiders. (I hope he stays healthy.)
