Mmmmkay, I’m back from the gym and the library. It’s been an odd draft. It seems that few are looking to upgrade what they should be upgrading. Of course, I base that on absolutely nothing.
Now the gay Giants are on the clock.
I know who I want for my Lions in the second. It hasn’t changed, either. I’m also aware of who I want in the third, fourth, and fifth, but I’m a freak like that.
(In case you’re wondering, Gabe Watson, Nicholson from FSU, Jeremy Bloom/Devin Hester and Marcus Vick).
Seriously, stop the DeAngelo Williams stuff. Not gonna happen. RB is the one position we don’t need to address, along with TE. Hence, ho Davis. Williams isn’t even a factor for GB unless he’s somehow still available in the 3rd round. And even then I’d doubt it.
Two running backs who are coming off of injuries does not make the position addressed. The Packers have more desperate needs for sure (interior offensive line is the huge one), so you’re probably right, but I think Williams will be a stud in the NFL.
Seriously, one thing that I can’t complain about is the Bears ability to draft. With the execption of Benson they’ve been superb in the draft, especially late.
Vasher, Tillman, Mike Brown, Alex Brown, Tommy Harris, Lance Briggs, Chris Gandy, Urlacher, Hillenmeyer.
Of course the exception is WR. We suck at drafting WRs, though we always wait until late in the draft to do it.
And now for some reason the Giants traded away from teh chance to take a stud WR…and the Steelers take Holmes. I’m torn on which I wanted for the Bears. I like Jackson’s pure WR ability but the Bears desperately need a guy who can returnd kicks.
Um, I’d say the Holmes pick is awesome. Monumentally stupid trade by the Giants, though they did get a lot back.
Can I tell you all how concerned I am that Jimmy Williams is still on the board? I know that’s going to tempt those guys. With luck the Manning, Jr. signing quelled he compulsion to draft defense in the first round. Chad Jackson
Which makes the calls for Jerry Angleo’s head in the press and on the radio all the more goofy.
They’ve done extremely well in the draft on defense, there’s no denying that. Although I will point out that Hillenmeyer was drafted by the Pack. They never should’ve should have let him go.
Bears trade down. Personally, I think it’s a nice move, because they may still get what they need. We’ll see.
Officially add me to the list of people calling for Angelos’ head on a fucking pike. The Benson pick had me close but the playoff appearance soothed me. Now this…never again.
