NFL Fantasy Football Discussion: Week 4

Start or sit:
Jason Snelling vs SF: I think SF is going to crumble again and both ATL rb’s will have big days.
Joseph Addai @ JAK: Incredible matchup, but his hamstring caused him to miss practice on Friday. He did practice earlier in the week, so it could be something serious. I have a bad feeling about the missed practice.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis @MIA: Not the greatest matchup, and it’s possible NE will be playing from behind. But of my other choices, he might get the most touches.
Demaryius Thomas @Ten: Horrible, horrible matchup, but if he gets even one TD he might outscore everybody above who aren’t very likely to find the end zone.

Bolding mine.

Is it immature of me to have snickered at that?

As for Addai, I’m more concerned as a fan. When I was looking up his projected stats on Yahoo, I read that Donald Brown missed some practice too because of his knee. I know we’re talking about the Colt’s running game here, but Peyton’s arm is gonna’ get tired eventually.

I’m in a 20 team ppr league and I don’t have a starting quarterback for this week. Romo is on bye and I drafted Matt Moore as a backup. There are no starting quarterbacks on the waiver wire.

What should I do this week?

Start Moore, hoping that Clausen gets pulled.

Pick up Chris Redman from the waiver wire, hoping that he gets some garbage time in the 4th quarter of an Atlanta blowout.

Pick up Brian Leftwich, hoping that Batch gets pulled.

Even Seneca Wallace and Shaun Hill are rostered?

Here’s another one:

In week 9, I’m kind of screwed. With JAC off, I have nobody to play. :frowning:

None of those are good bets. Moore is probably going to get the most, if any, play time.

Others to think about:
Todd Bouman (JAC): Garrard is already fired but he doesn’t know it. Bouman will probably get in there for a quarter at least.

Kerry Collins (Tenn): Fischer keeps benching Vince when they are losing. But if they are winning…

Tavaris Jackson (Minn): Maybe 10% chance here of seeing any playtime at all, but another bad half by Farve could be the last straw.

Josh Johnson (TB): Freeman, the starter, is another Vince Young wannabe…and they spend a lot of time banged up.

Max Hall (Ari): Threw an interception on his first pro pass or something…and he still might steal the starting job away from Anderson.

Even better! You must have been a riot in middle school.

Picking up Max Hall is an option. I’m an Arizona Cardinals fan, but if San Diego is winning big, I could see Whisenhunt pulling Anderson in the 4th quarter and giving Hall some time.

That game is getting closer and closer all the time. I think SD’s entire starting LB corps is injured and one of the practice squad guys is starting this week.

So anybody out there with super-secret connections in St. Louis, who can say if Steven Jackson is likely to play? I have Kenneth Darby as a handcuff, but boy would I hate to start him and then have Jackson run for 100 yards and 2 TD. I could start both… my bye week situation is ug-lee this week. Thoughts?

Yeah, I’ve got Steven Jackson and Pierre Thomas both starting in the Dynasty league, with no handcuff for either. My fingers are crossed.

I sat SJax on my wife’s team. She’s going to lose no matter what we do. We had to start Beanie Wells and Jason Snelling. Thomas Jones was on bye and Knowshon Moreno was injured.

It looks like I’m a lock to win…50 points ahead with just Hernandez and Miami D playing MNF, while I still have BenJarvus.

My wife is boned though. She still has brady but she’s 45 points behind. If we played SJax, she would still be ~35 points behind, but a much better chance of winning.

I grabbed Torain. It looks like portis might miss a game or two.

Sims-Walker gave me nothing this week. Should have started Meachem.

Meachem caught two passes for 16 yards.
