So, I needed a new Giants jersey for the upcoming season – last year’s Amani Toomer one was placed on the wall now that he’s no longer with the team. However, I’m pretty damn broke, so it was time to see what I could track down online and on the cheap.
Long story short, I end up buying from sell-sport.com – by mistake. I had bookmarked them, and then realized that they had too little of a grasp on the English language to make me fully trust them. However, when I went to order, I had used the wrong bookmark and went with sell-sport. Worked out, however, as I now have my bad-ass #72 Umenyiora jersey for a great price. Woo hoo’s all around.
But that’s not what this OP is about – it’s about the site itself, and the team pages. Like, say, the Giants page:
Ok, I love Eli, but no one who has ever seen him play is going to call his performances “perfect”. Oh, wait…“on the court”…yeah, I hear he is pretty damn good at pick-up basketball. Ok, never mind.
Yeah, you go ahead and walk around Invesco Field sporting your Cutler jersey – see how much love you get…
Wait, is this for fans of the Seahawks or the Chargers??
Glad I bought from them – a nice jersey at a great price, and a good laugh to boot!
Wait, what? I can’t wear a jersey of someone who’s not currently playing for my team? Bummer - didn’t get the memo. I can’t wear any of my Vikings jerseys anymore - I have Carter’s 80, Reveiz’s 7 (autographed!), and Berger’s 17. (Hey, I like kickers, what can I say?)
Oh, man, that is some excellent copy! I love the fact that they dis all the bad teams (Broncos aren’t the only ones). It’s like “Even though your team sucks, you still love them! Buy stuff!”
Rather than start my own thread, can somebody here tell me the difference between an “authentic” jersey ($200 - $300), a “premier” jersey ($100 or so), and a “replica” jersey (~$80)? None of these are knockoffs, they’re all official Reebok jerseys sold on NFL.com. After some Googling, all I can find are references to quality, but nothing describing exactly what’s different between them.
Not a problem. I was glad to find it – I’d wondered about many of the differences myself. I’m happy to find that while this site may butcher the English language, the jersey they sold me meets every bit of the “authentic” criteria in the buyer’s guide.
How in the world are the jerseys so cheap? Are they knock offs? Defective? There are really great deals there. Some of those jerseys are 10% of the retail price.
